Top favorite $20 ever spent on a video game. Have this on PSVR and had it on Vive years ago. In my opinion, it doesn't get better than this. It's neat to see the direction you went with Windlands 2 but a Windlands 3 made like the 1st Windlands would be phenomenal.
Windlands takes a basic fantasy just about every little kid has - being spiderman/flying through the air - and absolutely delivers on it. The mechanics are simple, you can jump, shoot your grapple hook, lock the length of the cables, or give yourself more slack. At first you might even think the game is "clunky", but if you persist just a bit, soo you will realize the nuance of movement you can achieve with these simple mechanics is truly staggering. And the thing is, you WILL need to learn these mechanics to get a lot of the collectibles in the game as they can be tucked away in truly hard to reach places. Even the hardest collectibles are never frustrating to get to though because just interacting with the game's mechanics is a joy.
The only real downsides are that there are a couple of small bugs I encountered. A couple of times my controller inputs got stuck, and the subtitles on the voiceover in certain parts of the game aren't timed properly, but overall those are minor quibbles for what is a great game. I'm absolutely looking forward to seeing what these devs have cooked up in windlands 2.
I'm playing windlands 1 and regret buying the bundle now. The motion sickness is so intense and I don't usually have trouble with it not even with grappling games. The cage does nothing to ease this I don't know who thought that would help.
It's a great game idea, I like the ambience and everything, very simple controls.
Devs should look at other grappling games and see how they have achieved this movement style without causing sickness.
This was the first VR game I ever played back on a dk2 in
Best parkour game on the store. I'm scared of heights so it does make my hands a bit sweaty lol but just adds to the thrill. Very fun.
This game is so much fun and so relaxing. The movement with the grappling hooks is so much fun once you get the hang of it. If you’re looking for a fun and relaxing game to kill some time then I recommend it. The visuals aren’t anything impressive, yet the visual style just works for this game. I absolutely recommend this game!
