VR Baseball drops you into the batter's box of a neighbourhood ballfield in Brooklyn, on a warm evening with the floodlights on.
The bat is in your right hand the moment the game opens — no rack, no menus to fight. A pitcher winds up on the mound and puts one over the plate every few seconds. Swing through it and the ball comes off the bat the way it should, carrying out over the mown outfield arcs toward the brownstone rooftops, the water towers and the city skyline beyond the fence.
It is a whole city block, not a booth. Walk out to the warning track, down the foul line, past the dugouts and the bleachers, along the park path, over to the basketball courts, or up to the street where the cars are parked.
Change the whole park from the in-game menu: sunset, daylight, dawn, emerald or neon dusk, each with its own light. Put on one of six original music tracks, or turn them off and listen to the breeze and the birds instead.
