What a refreshing surprise this game was. A simple concept that just made me smile and sometimes that's all you need from video games!

Hey devs, really great work. I love the game, but it's best played on a swivel chair. Would love to be able to play just seated easily, so any chance of adding a turn/rotate world option on non-plane-hand stick? Other similar games have this, works well. Just s suggestion, but a valid one I think. Cheers!
Update: Thanks for the response, was suggesting as an option to turn on or off but I get the initial design choice and limited resources etc. Cheers!
I really enjoy the flow of flying in the immersive worlds of Volara. There are clever puzzles to solve and the music is great. The best experience is to sit on a wheeled office chair so you have 360 movement.
UPDATE 20.1.25
Wow, you fixed the left handed glitch extremely quickly. I had another go for over twenty minutes and still can’t get passed the race. It seemed even faster this time round too. The same with topo tron, that’s even tougher to complete from the start.
I have revised my review to three stars for the quick fix which seems fair. This is not a game for me at the moment, as unfortunately I needed a slightly easier game. I’m glad I got it in the sale. I wish you well though and look forward to more updates in the future as mentioned on my initial review below.
Oh and not sure why but on my first start I was messing about shooting and did something shoot me or crash into me. I’m not sure but my plane exploded and I had to start again. It was fine on the second attempt though, so maybe just a one off.

UPDATE 16.1.25.
Thanks for the quick reply and tips. I tried taking the batteries out pre game as you suggested and couldn’t do anything. My plane disappeared. I’d suggest you trying to setup left handed and go from there. It can’t just be my version of the game that has this issue surely. The giraffe level is fine, inbetween levels are fine but as soon as you go into one of the other unlocked ones it seems broken. Also tried the other tip of not going through the red rings. That is pretty much almost impossible too. I managed to get to almost the end after a few tries, but it’s ridiculously difficult.
Hopefully there is a fix soon, as at the moment it’s unplayable past the first boss, for me at least. Down to two stars at the moment I’m afraid.

ORIGINAL REVIEW 12.1.25.
I have played just over an hour in total. After 22 minutes I did feel a little nauseous. I was also disappointed it took two and a half minutes to even start the game. Although it did say it was a one off and subsequent starts were a lot quicker. The only other game of the hundreds I’ve played that took longer was assassins creed nexus. The first levels took me almost 20 minutes, admittedly that included some exploring and just messing about and for the sake of it. I must say, it was a really fun and relaxed experience though. The game looks good too. Overall a pretty positive first impression.
On my second attempt I tried another twenty something minutes. I completed the chilled out first Giraffe levels again and it was still quite fun. After that it seemed the only option was a boss battle. That was frustrating as it really wasn’t clear what to do and I was forced to play right handed, even though previously everything was done with my left. I was tempted to refund at this point.
Third time lucky they say and it was. I played for under twenty minutes and finished the first boss despite still being forced to play right handed. I’m not sure how I did it though, but it was relief to finish it. I then started the next race, when again I was auto switched to using my right hand. I am hopeful this will be fixed, as I am too late to refund now. It started off OK. Then, it did get quite fast though and I struggled somewhat and had to stop.
Overall, i am rating it a somewhat generous 4 stars. It’s frustrating having to play right handed and I do think there should be some options for comfort and also speed and difficulty too. Maybe. Beginner, novice and advanced. If you could easily switch between them that would be goodr too.
I did feel a bit nauseous on the high speed race and have yet to complete it, as what I thought were lights was actually fire. I haven’t had another go since.
I look forward to some big fixes and hopefully anti nausea settings too.
Volara is an amazing experience that is perfect for all ages and great as an introduction to vr. I played in on steam. But now that it is stand alone it is even better. I wish that it was longer, definitely worth it.
For such simple graphics what are there so much jagged edges...needs serious work...its fun...but an insult to the power of the quest 3...
