First off, Vaultline Rush is a ton of fun. It's got great physics and feels super smooth and reliable. Movement is just real intuitive; everything works exactly how you think it will. Jumping, climbing, and vaulting all feel natural, which makes moving fast through the levels super satisfying.
It's just really good in general at not making you fight with the controls to keep your momentum. If you enjoy fast-paced movement and skill-based gameplay, then this is an easy game to recommend.
The player body feels polished and the visual presentation is good. The parkour aspects are generally great and the holospheres are a ton of fun! One main thing left to do is add more content (which the developer intends on doing soon).
I was really looking forward to this game. Unfortunately, it was a massive disappointment. First of all, this game is falsely advertised as "high-speed." It's anything but that. The sprint function (which is activated by clicking down on the left stick but SHOULD be activated by swinging one's arms) is laughably slow, and is more like a walking or slow jogging speed. The crouch/stand position is toggled by the right stick, but should instead be controlled by the actual height of the headset. The grab/pull up motion is incredibly clumsy, the climbing is too bouncy, and the grab mechanics are inconsistent.
Perhaps the most frustrating moment came in the 3rd (seemingly impossible) trial. First, there is no explanation of how to use the bluish sphere objects. I can grab onto them and *kind of* swing on them, but not really. Then, a little reddish block pops up at the end of the pathway (I guess I am somehow supposed to use this to my advantage) but there is a seemingly impossible distance to jump across to get to the final platform.
I thought Vaultline Rush might be similar to To The Top, but this isn't even close. The level design is far too linear, and the overall gameplay is really rough. The graphics are crisp and clean, and the music is great, but that's really all it has going for it at this moment. Respect to the dev for the attempt because I love platforming/parkour games, but this just has too far to go right now.
Vaultline Rush instantly brings to mind the energy of Ninja Warrior — a fast-paced, physics-based obstacle experience where skill, timing, and determination are everything.
You sprint, jump, climb, swing, and pull yourself across dangerous moving platforms and traps, and it’s totally normal to repeat a section ten times before finally nailing the perfect run. That “one more try” loop is incredibly satisfying.
The physics feel better the more you play, making every run slightly different as you improve your technique. With plenty of levels, tight mechanics, and the fun of competing with friends by sharing the headset, this early access title is already very solid and super promising.
A great pick for players who love physical VR challenges and speedrunning vibes. Parkour game lovers, time to warm up!
The developer of this game nailed the physics and full body ik. Super fun to play around with and the environment has a good feel. Awesome that a solo developer can make something this good!
The physics feel realistic and grounded. Fun to pick up and try to beat times
