Fight for Your Life in a Dark Dimension

Experience a revolutionary form of Mixed Reality! UNDERLIE uses a 3D scan of your room—or MULTIPLE ROOMS on a floor of your home—to transform your world into a sinister parallel dimension.

Blur the Line Between Realities

UNDERLIE uses advanced techniques based specifically on the tech of the Meta Quest 3. It uses the Quest 3's geometric room scan tech to build a fully-textured mesh in the shape of your room(s). It also takes advantage of the Quest 3's real-time "dynamic occlusion" to further blend the real and virtual worlds.

Beyond Roomscale

Play in a single room--or transform an entire floor of your home! UNDERLIE can now combine multiple room scans to generate an even larger play area. (Rooms should be on the same level, no playing across multiple stories.)

Beyond Your Playspace

A doorway along the outer boundary of your play area can let the game add "rooms" that you can see and shoot into BEYOND your physical play area.

Unique experience!

Thanks, guys, you've made a significant step forward in Mixed Reality! In my opinion, you've created the best Mixed Reality experience for today. Of course, it needs some improvement and polish, but what you've accomplished for now is already very impressive. I highly recommend to try it to all VR enthusiasts!

Hard !!!!!

I bought the game on sale,
I really liked that it turns my house into hell, the design is very beautiful.

I have a hard time playing this game, I just can't do it.
I play and die within a minute, I can't progress, and it depresses me .

I'm not lowering the rating because I believe you will improve the game.
Please add difficulty levels and make a "very easy" mode for people like me who want to play for more than a minute.

Edit:
Hi, Sorry for the delay.... I gave the game another chance after the update. When I switched to the easier level I finally saw new and scary creatures :) Congratulations on the design, the design is one of the basic reasons I love the game.

UPDATE: Glad the "Less Difficult" mode helped you!

For readers: "Less Difficult" mode is actually an experimental progression system. The way it currently works, is If you don't get past a certain point in the game by approx 3 deaths, the game will prompt you if you want to turn it on. You can also just turn it on if you go to the "Options" on the main menu. I've tweaked it a bit since it v1.50 and it's still experimental--all these things could totally change!

A Glimpse of the future of gaming

Truly next-gen. Transform your room or whole home into a nightmare atmosphere, no cumbersome setup needed. Needs to be experienced to "get" just how revolutionary this is.

I really appreciate this comment.

For me, the "ultimate form of VR" is being able to actually walk around in a virtual world. Not thumbstick locomotion or arm swinging. I wanted this game to be revolutionary, and I'm so glad there's at least some people who see it that way!

I should mention, though, there is a form of setup: People still need to have their rooms scanned with the Quest room scanning (with any doorways between rooms properly in the scans).

I tried to load the game up and when it gets to the part where it's a scan it doesn't do nothing but buffer it's not loading in the game please fix I deleted it three times and installed it and still doing the same thing it won't load up and stuck on skin when you put skin it just buffers and I don't know why it needs more stuff in the environment like lava hellfire steam like the environment is too dull and boring no spider webs no spiders crawling around centipedes to give you that every feeling you need more stuff in the environment that's going on skeletons screaming and hollering like it's actual hell they don't actually feel like hell I feel like I'm just inside a cave it don't give me that I'm in hell feeling it should be some kind of torturing going on people getting burned alive demons moving around fire burning people screaming for help while they get tortured that every scary feeling

Thanks for the feedback! I found something that could have caused it. Maybe you accidentally clicked "Don't allow" on the "spatial data" permission pop-up?

I updated the game today so that there should be a message telling people how to enable the permission, if it detects that the game doesn't have access to "spatial data." It's an easy mistake to make, so other people might have done it too.

If it's a permission issue, I'll explain what to do: Go to your Quest's games library, then Hover your cursor over the big "UNDERLIE" game icon and look for 3 dots (...) in the upper right corner of the game icon.

Click the 3 dots, then choose "Settings." Then flip the switch to turn "Spatial data" on for the game.

I hope that fixes it for you! If it doesn't, you can message me here: https://www.realityrig.com/underlie-contact

And thank you again for your game ideas!

Looks cool

Interesting concept but after I emptied the few shots my gun held i found myself swatting at flying skills until I died.. app manager reached out o me about refilling ammo i will try again Update, tried again found ammo containers but enemies seemed to stop spawning. Waited several minutes and nothing happened.

I updated the game more today. There's been a couple changes since v1.43 based on what you said.

When the enemies stopped spawning for you, maybe a "portal" was ready to open. It's confused me in the past, and I had added a sound effect to try to make people aware something was there, but it wasn't enough really. The update today makes an ammo canister spawn in front of your doorway after a delay IF the player hadn't gotten close enough to the portal doorway for it to open within about 20 seconds of it getting active. I hope that can help lead people to seeing it open. (I realize now I should also add a sound cue when the opening actually happens, but I haven't done that yet)

Also, in many cases now there will be a canister that spawns near the player's feet on the first play of a session, along with a dialogue line. Hopefully that will help people realize about the ammo.

Thanks for your feedback!

VERY IMPRESSIVE

So I got this like, a couple minutes ago and did a few testing, my sister and I, she ripped the headset off her head and almost flung it 😂😂. Well, thats how believable the meshes are. One thing though is that at a point, a skull was clipping with the mesh and was seemingly stuck, spent a few ammo on it but it didnt budge, alssooo, hold onnnn!!, did you make doors even when closed accessible to the monsters? Boy, I saw my door open and skulls came through lmao
