The graphics and general premise of the game are great, but the gameplay itself ibebcomes a chore fairly quick. The cricket-like combat setup is probably cool for many, as I myself thought it would be, but in execution (especially as THE entire focus of the game), it's dreadful...
I spend more time frantically hitying the ball TRYING to hit what I am aiming for than actually enjoying myself. There is no hitting straight, and as soon as the 3rd level in the first chapter (as far as I've been as of yet since progress never saves because it also is part of the absolutely useless & time wasting "Rogue" sub-genre VR devz love using for whatever reason...), this wonky "no accurate aiming possible" batting system makes the game nearly inplayable, so I can't imagine it does anything but get much worse going forward...
So I wish the devs luck, but this one judt isn't for me and likely many others for similar reasons.
No skill hitting/ aiming a ball hit, and I'm not going to spend time learning to in a frantic (can be anyway) Rogue-like game.
Undead Quest delivers an exhilarating VR experience that seamlessly blends action and fantasy in a rogue-lite wave shooter. The unique combination of a bat and a magic ball as primary weapons adds a refreshing twist to the gameplay. Swinging the bat and casting spells with the magic ball not only provides an engaging combat experience but also offers a surprisingly effective workout for your arms, akin to playing tennis.
The game's narrative unfolds as you embark on an epic journey from being a student at a magical university to a rising star in the enchanted cricket league. The sudden shift to facing quirky undead after a celebratory victory adds an intriguing layer to the storyline, prompting players to uncover the mystery behind their unexpected presence in the enchanted forest.
However, it's worth noting that the game, while promising, does have a few bugs, which can be attributed to its early release stage. Despite these minor issues, the potential for improvement is evident, and one can hope that future updates will address these concerns and perhaps introduce additional storylines to enhance the overall gaming experience.
Undead Quest invites players to master the art of hitting, dodging, slashing, and repeating as they navigate through waves of undead foes. The roguelite-inspired design ensures that each playthrough is a unique adventure, encouraging players to craft their skillset and face the challenge head-on. Whether you choose to unravel the mystery in story mode or test your survival skills in the challenging survival mode, Undead Quest promises an immersive VR escapade that's both fun and physically engaging.
I was surprised by this one. The graphics look nice and the game runs very smooth on my Q3. It is a very unique game and at first I did not think it would be for me. I was wrong, I took a chance because the price is attractive. To my surprise I had a blast with this and I have never tried cricket in my life. Do yourself a favor and try this, the devs deserve props it’s a fun little game.
I love charming and cute for Halloween vs gory horror so this game is definitely for me!
The creativity and originality of this game is epic. The devs are very caring and have listened to all feedback given during development.
Having put in an extensive amount of time playing the original demo of Undead Quest, I can confidently say that this release is an improvement in every aspect! The core paddle-based gameplay has been given an extensive amount of new mechanics to work with (namely via the upgrade system) to ensure it doesn't grow old, the aesthetic has been doubled down on and given a satisfying amount of polish, and the writing has been packed to the brim with bits that are sure to make you crack a smile! Replayability has seen its fair share of improvements as well through both progression changes and a series of items to collect, so there's plenty of ways to get your money's worth out of this one! If you're looking for an arcade-y title with a refreshingly fun aesthetic, Undead Quest is definitely worth a try!
It takes two or three levels to get used to, but then it's super fun. And visually, this is the coolest game I've ever seen on quest 2
