I have played this game during the testing period. It was definitely one of the most interesting games that I’ve tested so far. I am enjoying the story and the gameplay mechanics. Oh and this game has given me quite the workout. I am mid-way through the campaign as of writing this review and I am planning on completing it this weekend.
I will update the review if it becomes necessary.
This is an interesting Rail-Shooter, if you like this genre. You basically fly on the back of a dragon. You can control it directly with either of your hands by "grabbing" it. That's how you navigate past/through the level architecture and avoid being shot by robot drones. You also alternate between fire and ice which becomes important at some point, because you have enemies that have to be attacked by either attack. Make sure you have space around you, you will need it if you want to reach certain items that might otherwise be too far away to reach. You will be moving more than you will expect. I'm kinda stuck at a boss atm and need to play more.
This game, although was hard, it was a good experience. The story i learned was good, the switching projectiles thing reminded me of the mechanic from super Mario 3D works, the boss fights were cool, and overall if ur a fan of the series or are looking for a fantasy type style game then this is right up ur alley
The Phoenix Gene is a fun game where you controll a dragon in a rail system, almost like Subway Surfers type movement. You must avoid enemies and shoot them down. This game is pretty fun and features a slightly deep story and lore to it.
The game is fantastic and I love the idea behind it but I feel like it could be expanded with more mechanics in the game, and I feel as if there is something missing within it. Personally it ain’t my cup of tea but for others who like this type of game they may love it. :)
Graphically, this game reminds me of holographc games I played 8n the early 90s, except now I'm part of the game, thanks to the innovation of VR! I needed to clear the room for this one. Maybe it was just the way I wanted to play it. I was rolling all over my lounge room floor - dodging, weaving, shooting, taking out drones from all around me. Being able to swap hands, roll all over the floor, one becomes thankful for passthrough to keep the players safe in their real environment. I didn't have to play like this......but it was sooooo much fun!
