In The Obsessive Shadow, you take on the role of Liam, a 9-year-old
boy left alone in his home after the power suddenly goes out, plunging the house into suffocating darkness. Armed with only a flashlight, you must navigate the unsettling dangers of the night as you are being watched throughout the night. Your mother's voice on the phone is your guide to surviving, But as her instructions grow more confusing and the unease deepens, the safety of her words begins to feel increasingly fragile. Something is watching, a shadowy figure moving just out of sight, waiting for you to slip up.

As the hours creep forward, the once-familiar home becomes an
unfamiliar labyrinth of fear, each corner hiding the possibility of
confrontation with the lurking entity.
Testing your courage and instincts as you struggle to stay one step
ahead of the unseen threat. Your mother's voice remains your
lifeline,
but survival demands more than just following her instructions—it
requires vigilance,
quick thinking, and a determination to face the overwhelming dread.
Will you endure the relentless terror and make it to morning, or will
the suffocating darkness claim you before dawn?

Glitchy

So, I really like the idea of the game, but overall it's not technically good.

Turning breaks this game, and not in a good way. If you're talking on the phone, or turn next to a wall, you fall in. Once this happens collision decides it's going to hide in the closet without you, as I could no longer walk up stairs, since I kept falling through the floor.

I also noticed is there is no 3D Audio so if you are using headphones, you can't actually hear where the knock is coming from. The TV introduction sounded like it came from outside, and Mom's voice sounded like it was coming through the ceiling instead of the phone.

It's a shame I couldn't make it further then the first window scare, as this game has a lot of promise, but due to the fact that the game breaking bugs prevent playing further, I can't recommend it.

Huge fan!

I been waiting for the full release since it was a stranger things fan game! It's also really good! The shadow didn't look that scary in the final act but it's alright? The only complaint I have is that it's a short game

A chilling descent into childhood fear..

The Obsessive Shadow is more than just a horror game—it’s a nerve-wracking journey through the eyes of a terrified 9-year-old named Liam, trapped in his darkened home with something sinister lurking just beyond reach.

From the very first moments, the atmosphere grabs you. The flicker of your flashlight, the eerie silence broken by creaks and distant whispers, and the increasingly frantic voice of your mother over the phone all work together to create a creeping sense of dread. It’s not jump scares that make this game terrifying—it’s the tension, the stillness, and the fear of what might be waiting in the dark.

The storytelling is masterful. What starts as a simple blackout quickly unravels into something deeply unsettling. Is your mother really helping you? Can you trust the instructions she gives? Or are you being led deeper into danger?

The use of space and sound design is incredible, turning a familiar home into a nightmarish labyrinth. Every hallway becomes a gauntlet, and every shadow might be hiding something that sees you before you see it.

This is psychological horror done right. The Obsessive Shadow doesn’t just want to scare you—it wants to get inside your head. And it succeeds.

If you love slow-burning, atmospheric horror with rich narrative tension, The Obsessive Shadow is a must-play. Just don’t turn off your flashlight.
