The Last Worker is an immersive narrative adventure centered around a lone worker’s last stand in an increasingly automated world, The Last Worker is a unique blend of work simulation and stealth strategic gameplay.

The game is set in a lonely, oppressive but strangely beautiful environment, with characters designed by comics legend Mick McMahon.

Kurt works for the world’s largest retailer and is forced to choose between capitalism or activism. Having dedicated his life to work, Kurt’s loyalty is put to the test when a group of activists ask him to dismantle Jüngle from the inside.

Aboard his corporate issued flying JünglePod and armed with his multi-purpose JüngleGun, Kurt dispatches countless products from a fulfilment centre the size of the sunken city of Manhattan.

Kurt (voiced by Ólafur Darri Ólafsson) has dedicated his life to Jüngle, with only his co-bot, Skew (Jason Isaacs) to keep him company. But when S.P.E.A.R., a group of activists, asks Kurt to help dismantle Jüngle from the inside, Kurt is forced to discover his employer’s dark underbelly.

The Last Worker delivers an emotional, thought provoking and inspiring story with rich characters performed by an all-star cast starring, Jason Isaacs, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Clare-Hope Ashitey, David Hewlett, Zelda Williams and Tommie Earl Jenkins.

Good, but underbaked in parts.

It has a lot of good things going for it, but some parts felt underbaked.
Find the second control room checkpoints too far apart.
Shooting sequence is nearly impossible because auto aim misses.

I usually use snap turning, but it didn't work well with this, so I made the vignette large and used smooth turning.

The cow eating gum was a bit weird.

Don’t waste your money

I bought the game after experiencing the free trial and this is by far one of the most boring and most frustrating games I’ve ever played.
The story is stretched a mile long to the point it’s painfully boring.
The movement is insufferable, the little hover scooter is insanely slow and difficult to turn in most times.
The dialogue is lazy, and is a headache to listen to your daughter whine and complain about how men ruin everything as if it has anything to do with the story which there is lack of.
This game is also politically left and is crazy that the devs actually think Trump will still be relevant in the next 50 years which is where this game roughly takes place, I personally believe that real world politics have no reason to be in video games but devs don’t believe that honestly

Feedback

Dealing with a disability, not being able to move my fingers, I would appreciate it big time, if you would update your controls. I need to toggle grab, to be able to play the game.
Will change my rating 🙂

One of the best!

The last worker is an awesome game, and very long for its price. I love the whole idea, but I wish there was an “infinite” mode that allows you to do the packages day by day as if you were in the company, and maybe skew would like say things to you idk.

A few things I wish where different:

1. The medical area
This area I found extremely difficult. It would be nice to maybe have like a bit of help if you fail it to many times because I failed it like 26 times.

2. The endings (spoilers)
These feel a little inconclusive, like I understand the ending where hoverbird explodes as like a way to just stop the chaos, but they didn’t show what happened afterwards, I mean did the robots just shut down afterwards?
The ending where you become the ceo needs more, I can’t really think of what but it just feels kind of like a missed opportunity.
The home ending is okay but it would be nice to show like maybe them trying to get skew out of the tree, and maybe Kurt and Cheyenne do something together.

I mean these addons would make a good DLC or maybe just part of the whole game.

Overall: 8.8/10

I did 5 stars because this is a smaller game and it could use the support.

Great game, but needs a few minor changes.

Good but I can't play it

Overall, it's a very good game. However, there are two issues that make it completely unplayable:

1. Nausea attacks. This is the only game out of hundreds that causes me dizziness and nausea. It's very strange because I always disable all motion sickness protection features in other games without any issues.

2. There are entire missions based on the mechanic of throwing objects. This is a very bad idea because there are very few games where throwing mechanics actually work well, and unfortunately, this game is not one of them. I just got stuck on one of these missions forever.
