I used to love this game and considered purchasing The Climb 2, but after re-installing The Climb and trying it again, none of the menus work and it won’t load past the menu screen for me. A pity, I would have enjoyed revisiting this one!
The game started off feeling great, traversing slowly along the holds and being able to take your time was really fun. Unfortunately, the further you get in the game, the more apparent it is that none of the systems work very well. Once I moved on past the mellow walls onto the hard levels and boulder levels, I frequently noticed myself being launched off the wall at random times letting go of holds despite me still holding the grab button, and
other game-breaking bugs. When the game allowed for slow methodical movement, it wasn’t as noticeable, however in the later, faster, higher impact stages of the game, it became extremely obvious that this game could barely function.
That being said, it was fun for a while in the beginning, and might be worth it if it’s on sale, hence the three stars.
Really hoping the sequel will patch out all these issues.
I first purchased The Climb 2 and love it, completed all stages and came again from the beginning. Then I thought if The Climb 1 was worth it or not, and the answer is YES!! If you enjoy part 2, part 1 is also great. The Climb series is a MUST HAVE experience for me. Come and get it now!!
This one crashes a lot on my Q3.
I find the climbing aspect therapeutic and the stamina management aspect kind of stressful. I like both aspects, but I think all routes should be open to tourist from the beginning so people can better enjoy the game in their own way.
Clearing debris from holds doesn’t seem to work as well in this one as the sequel. And having to half-hold while struggling with the physics isn’t fun.
Otherwise, I like these games a lot. It’s weird how visceral my reaction to sitting on a couch can be under the right circumstances. These games still give me sweaty palms.
It is really bad won’t a refund
The gameplay is very good, and I like the practice mode, but I wish there were more levels and things to do.
