A classic reborn on quest 3

Loved this game when i first owned it and played it on an htc vive. The mechanic of staying in one area while monsters attack from all angles is unsettling and exhilirating at the same time. No need to use the joystick for movement here, just use your legs to turn. Graphics look great considering its running on standalone hardware. Just a few things i noticed that need improvement. 1 sometimes using the knife will not strike the monsters even in close proximity, 2 some graphical niggles such as the flame on level one is blocky like minecraft blocky and the tunnel in level one where the monster breaks out of the wooden plank is white instead of black, 3 Monsters and background items dont have shadows on the ground and appear like they are floating. Please fix these slight imperfections so that the game will get even better. Thanks

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review — and for being one of the original Brookhaven players from the early HTC Vive days!

You captured the heart of Brookhaven perfectly — that mix of tension and adrenaline while holding your ground in a true 1-to-1 play space. (Nothing against stick-locomotion games, but sometimes it’s extra immersive when the action happens right where you’re standing or sitting.) We’re glad you’re enjoying how it feels on standalone hardware.

We really appreciate the detailed notes as well. We’re looking into melee hit detection and a few visual cleanups in upcoming updates to make sure everything feels as solid as it should.

Thanks again for taking the time to write such a constructive review — it’s players like you who help us keep improving Brookhaven for everyone.

Loved this game since the PSVR launch

I bought my PSVR1 at launch and I bought Brookhaven as soon as I got home, I still have my psvr and Brookhaven but I've always wanted it on the quest and I'm so glad that it's finally here.

I absolutely love the quest version (I have the quest 3) and the Q3 features absolutely improved so many things such as tracking.

I love going outside at night and playing this, it just really amps up the immersion.

Y'all have done a really great job and I'm so glad that it's finally on the Quest. I wish other developers would bring their older VR titles over to the Quest as well.

Wow — hearing from day-one Brookhaven players like you honestly makes our day!

We’re thrilled you’re loving the Quest 3 version; that improved tracking and clarity really bring the tension to life again. Playing outside at night? That’s totally on brand for Brookhaven — and we actually did that ourselves during QA, so we love that you’re doing it too!

Thanks for sticking with us all these years and for helping keep classic VR experiences alive on modern headsets.

Pretty Awesome.

I’ve been wanting to play this for years since I first watched others play it when vr was just on pc and I couldn’t afford it at the time. It’s allot of fun and I think it looks great. Very sharp. I’m hoping the devs add in some haptic feedback for the weapons and flashlight . It’s definitely needed but aside from that , it’s allot of fun and seems like it has of replay value. It’s really cool that it’s finally on the quest.

Really appreciate this — so glad you’re finally getting to experience Brookhaven firsthand!
We hear you on haptics. We agree they’d add a lot to immersion, and it’s on our radar for upcoming updates.
Thanks for calling out the visuals and replay value too — that’s exactly what we were hoping to deliver for Quest players. Have fun surviving out there!

Could have been great..

This was the first game i bought when I got my first VR headset a PSVR1 many years ago and it made me fall in love with VR. At the time I loved this game. I was so excited to hear it was coming out for the Quest…. That changed when I bought it. It seems to be a direct port from the original version over to the Quest…. and not a very good port at that. When you first load the game it seems to load the graphics in in bits and pieces. The Menus are far to close to the player. The graphics have had no work done to them at all, they are terrible, it’s like playing a PS1 game on a PS5. The in game flashlight points behind the way you are facing so you end up holding the controller at an uncomfortable angle to get it to work correctly. Overall this game is not worth £7.99. A great nostalgia game that seems to have been ported with no love at all. Should have worked on improving the graphics and controls then I would have gladly paid way more for it. Hopefully it will receive updates to make it a more enjoyable playing experience.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts - and for being one of the players who discovered VR through the original Brookhaven Experiment!
Quick tip: it sounds like you may have triggered the “tactical flip” flashlight mode (Y/B button), which lets players cross wrists to aim the gun and light together. Tap it again to reset.
Our aim with the Quest version was to preserve the tension and feel of the original game while ensuring smooth standalone performance. We appreciate your feedback — updates are already in progress to make the experience even better for everyone revisiting Brookhaven on Quest.
