The Amusement is a narrative virtual reality game in which the player takes on the role of Samantha Burkhart. Sent by her mother to inspect an abandoned amusement park inherited from her late father, the 19-year-old woman is overwhelmed by memories of her childhood. To come to terms with her past, Samantha explores the park and solves puzzles in this redirected-walking adventure.
A FAMILY HISTORY
Set in the 1920s, the story of The Amusement draws on the scars of the post-war period. At her mother's request, Samantha visits the family amusement park for one last inspection: a winding maze, the ruins of Atlantis... and of course, roller coasters!
REDIRECTED WALKING
The Amusement offers a redirected walking exploration experience: every step the player takes is immediately transcribed into the game. Players will need a 4-square-meter space to walk around and climb the game's structures. Note that it is also possible to move around using controller-based movements.
INTERACTIVE GAMEPLAY
Players can manipulate objects to search for clues and find their way through the park. Virtual reality allows for better interaction with the environment, enabling a holistic and concrete resolution of the puzzles.
