The game features Knights, Vikings, Mongols, Samurai, Pirates, realistic armor physics, epic boss fights and powerful boss weapons, a Kraken, RPG player progression and customization, a Blacksmith, Armorer and Skill Master to help you build a character suited to your playstyle and lots of items to buy and unlock, all in effort to stop the Jötunn from taking over the world.

The Jötunn has recruited captains from all over the world, giving them godly weapons with which to command powerful armies. He wields seemingly infinite power: Hellfire.

Swordsman also features gameplay modifiers. These will let you change how the core game works in fun and interesting ways. Hardcore enemies, invisible enemies (floating swords), Doomfist (super strength), the ability to slow time down whenever you want and many more.

Made better through updates

I kinda like this game. The weapons and armor choices are abundant, the level system in on point. The boss fights are challenging and interesting. The kraken scares the crap out of me.
The controls are clunky and make me feel sluggish in movement. The opponents don't have very many different moves and the different areas are just the same fighting styles with opponents in different costume. I think I would enjoy it more if I were moving through a level or area instead of being at a stationary place with enemies spawning in one after another. Throwing a weapon feels way off with tragectory. I don't know how my sword is able to pierce through steel armor and when my opponent kicks and I slice the leg it never registers or dismembers the leg. I think with some minor tweeks this game could be a lot more fun.

And after a few updates this game has really improved. Devs are committed to this one. It's not a 5 star game yet imo but with a little fine tuning it can get there. I'm updating to 4 stars. Great job improving quality of life for this title. The AI update made the opponents seem more fluid and realistic. The environments have become more immersive and the combat no longer feels clunky. Throwing weapons still feels off but in fairness your not really sposed to throw your weapons in this game. It's a good title and a solid 4 stars.

Sword alignment sucks

Common issue in vr swordplay. You don’t hold a sword perpendicular to your arm. Zero range or control. This is like… extremely basic.

Late review.

So it's been a bit since I played but from what I remember it's more realistic than the arcadier games out there. You have to work for your victory instead of blindly swinging and I appreciate that. I redownloaded it today so I'll give an update after a good play session.

I was wrong.

I gave it another shot and I actually like it in fact it might just be my favourite sword fighting game

Not for me

It seems like a great game but I can't even play with how bad my stick drift is. It would be helpful for me and other people with stick drift if you could toggle which joystick you move with and completely disable turning.
