I tried this game just last week and I'm really addicted to it. So far I haven't encountered any bugs or glitches. I noticed one gameplay thing tho. The holding position of the one handed weapons felt a little off centred compared to other shooting games I've played. But over time I got used to it. And please add more big bosses. Overall a great experience.👍🏻
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Sweet Surrender, even though I am not a fan of rogue-like games myself. The setting and art style really interested me as well as the designs of the enemies. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of sci-fi media and / or rogue-likes.
So far ok but early days.
Love the graphic style , dry , crisp and textureless sci-fi vibe with nod to Tron and Borderlands ( a bit ) and stuff like that.
Corridor and corner turning based sneaking about , punctured with rapid fire-fights with solid variety of droids and robot sentries. So far combat is manageable as long as you grab a gun and remember how it re-loads. Arm down - arm up. Simple!
Have blown myself up too many times with grenades . DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON and NOT THROW. Yep , muppet , I did that.
Good available cover via crates etc. But no crouch that I can find , yet.
Also you can push crates and boxes around with your hand providing some limited cover opportunities and also using them to fall on enemies. Scenery / props can be shot at too.
And it’s rogue-like , which is no longer that original in VR , but if it’s your gaming vibe and style then this delivers. I felt bit jaded for a while as it feels you are punished for , so far , little gain ? Not 100% clear on how I am actually progressing and have to clearly learn how the game operates with respect to chip upgrades etc.
Similar to how I must have had to learn how to progress in Death Unchained and eventually ride with the flow and grind onwards.
Guess each valiant attempt builds up your rewards etc and unlocks better stuff ?
Hope to heaven I don’t just keep ending up in the same starting spot and with no weapons ? Hope not ! Maybe that’s the whole point ?
So in summary ,
Cool graphic vibe creating a convincing world, clearly lots of exploring and sneaking about in ever changing rooms allied to the principle of Repeat-Die-Repeat .
Collecting gears and upgrades still a mystery and no doubt I need to be patient here.
I still can’t believe that I can actually be “in” the sort of computer games I played flat-screen so long ago.
So lock and load and here we go again.
Enjoy!
The game itself is addictive to a new extreme with the Reaper class. I feel like it's going to keep getting better with all of these new weapons.
I will like to suggest that this game broadens the melee weapons department. Like Hammers, scythes, knuckles, axes. Each with a secondary function when you pull the trigger.
Reason why I say that is due to me being a fanatic of swords, knives and melee weapons.
An addition would probably be an archer class using a standard bow and arrow with the grapple gun or the throwing knife as a secondary in class choices. I just think adding a bit of a twist to using ranged weapons in a gun based game.
I really enjoy slashing through waves of robots, but I wish that there was some way to save loadouts, (such as a mele loadout with chips and a sword,) but this game is still amazing and has some of the best graphics in a VR shooter game, EVER! Would definitely recommend buying!
Fast and fun game.
Play the daily challenge, it's great.
This is my go to game when I want to just play something and not go through a ton of loading screens.
