Starship Home definitely sets a high bar for MR games. You start with one object to place in the room, and by the end of the game you have 15, all of them animated and even interacting with each other. The story is sort of spoon-fed, and the characters are a little silly. I can see my 8YO granddaughter enjoying this game just as much as I did.
It also helps that I enjoy raising plants, as you acquire one shortly after starting the game and end up with more than half a dozen (all of which need water, the right kind of fertilizer, and some occasional weeding). It's the major task of the game, and gets a little stressful sometimes trying to keep all of them happy at the same time. That was fun for me!
I really appreciated the hint at the end of returning to each planet, which I haven't done yet but plan to! I'm looking forward to more MR games from Creature.
I tried 3 times to set up my star ship, everytime things were either overlapping and I couldn't see any of them fully, or they were being set up way too far away from me.
If only you had good settings! Or an option to play seated. Not for me, but graphics were nice.
I loved how this game started out. I was really into it as were my kids, but then it said it didn't recognize our room scan which we redid, only to find that after resetting up the starship, we could never get back to our place in the story because the original dream plant is never given to us again. I wish we could actually finish it because it was something everyone in our family enjoyed.
i really enjoyed playing this game. It required me to care for multiple plants, yes... and to continue fertilizing and watering them but I really liked the story line and the activity and having a spaceship in my living room. I cant wait to play again!
So, the room scan issue is fixed, and now we have taken off, but if I hear "A little more fertiliser on the plant..." one more time!!! I gave the plant the red one and the blue one multiple times, watered it, but nothing happens. I cannot progress. It is not clear what to do. I would be very frustrated if this was my first VR experience.
I am glad I didn't pay for this.
So, Starship Home has had two chances. Should I give it a third?
The meter doesn't move. Should anything happen? I used the blue one because there was a blue glow over the plant. I poured it on top of the plant. I poured it on the soil. Multiple times. Backwards and forwards to where the pink and blue thing live. Nothing happens. I tried the pink one. Same thing. Multiple times, nothing happens. 20 mins. Nothing happens.
Tried to like it, but the windows shifting and being incredibly difficult to move about just kept taking me out of the game.
Maybe when tracking gets better on Q4 or whatever comes next, this won't be such a pain to actually have some fun with.
