UPDATE: Still loving the games, play them almost daily, but found one flaw. If you go into passthrough mode, or sometimes just break through your boundary wall, one or both of your controllers may not be recognized by the game - sometimes invisible, other times just hanging in air. You have use the Oculus button to get out of the game, then come back in. Doesn't happen often enough to drop a star off my review.
I totally cannot play any of these sports IRL (you know, the serious versions), nor even that well in the game, but these are so wacky. I have a ton of fun losing, and even more fun when I do win. I don't have the room to give the tennis game a fair evaluation, but the bowling and baseball are a blast. Like another reviewer, I don't need live competition (they'd either be super frustrated by my ineptitude, or die laughing), so the bots are fine for me.
I love this game. Awesome moments practicing sports, exercising and having fun!
Downloaded the demo and liked. Bought the game and it offers much more! The scramble mode is fun, but you can turn it off to play sports more realistically.
Even the complains that some users made (like long intro and bad flow) were already corrected by the developers.
I really recommend to buy this game! Download the demo and try it now.
this game was so fun that i wanna buy the full game now
"Yeah, handsome, great big guy, seven feet tall! Name is Rick Miller — Portland, Oregon. And he started a business. Of course you know it was in basketball. But it wasn't in basketball! I mean, I figured he had to be in sport, but he wasn't in sport!"
This game has potential, but has way to many bugs. After a couple dozen games, here's what I've found
Baseball:
- Your fielders make errors on fly balls 40% of the time, cpu hardly ever.
- Throw a pitch in the dirt that the CPU swings on, it's still called a ball.
- CPU hits home runs almost every pitch when the get the golden bat. I've had them home run on a pitch at their feet and 2 feet out of the strike zone. Once they get the golden bat expect to lose by 15-20 runs
- When hitting left, I always have to use the back of the gold club, cricket bat, etc.
- When hitting (left) it makes me move to the edge of guardian instead of allowing me to be in the middle or (even better) right side. It means every swing triggers the guadian grid to appear and if I have to reach for a pitch I'm going outside the strike zone.
Tennis
- Often hits the ball outside of the safe zone, making a force miss or a dangerous play.
General:
- Settings are not saved, they need to be reset every time.
I really think this game has a lot of potential and find it fun even with these bugs, but the bugs make it too frustrating to play.
Just got the quest system and am trying out the demos. This demo allowed one bowling demo, and a few tennis, but I cant try the baseball demo. Everytime I go back to restart, it takes me directly to tennis mode. Looks fun, but I'm not convinced enough to buy it. Maybe later if support tells me whats wrong.
