Limited Functionality

It's very interesting for the first 3 minutes, until you realize that the shark will always catch you and reset the timer. It would be worth while to not have the shark catch up to you or at times require you to row faster for a brief period as the shark gains speed. Additionally you can not align the boat direction to your rowing machine; this should be an option. I would also like to see an option to input a time limit and the heads up display should be down lower, so you can see your progress without looking up at the sky. Also the scenery should change. Perhaps you could briefly have dolphins swim along the boat with occasional birds flying by or a brief encounter with whales, sea turtles, or be attacked by a giant squid. While you are at it, it should have a selection between imperial and metric. It's a play once and then forget it game, but it has potential. It's evident that this a single developer production as I can assume that it has not undergone an engineering peer review. Not being critical, just providing you with some guidance as a former software developer as how to go from just okay to great.

Great for using on IRL rowing machine

The 3 rowing experiences are exactly the types of experiences I was looking for in a rowing app. The ability to use my rowing machine with my quest adds value to both purchases. I’d love to see this app grow. I’d gladly pay money for a robust product.

As far as it gets...

I was looking for various VR mechanics and during a pilates session I came with that idea of 'row mechanism' so this is how I found out Spirit Row.
Thanks to developers for considering 'mobility' on VR.
There are a few things that I'd like learn about the game; do the shark catches the player eventually no matter how hard we row?(:
Plus, the other 2 options on the game are a some kind of a spiral and a burning boat, basically easy VFX could make it interesting but since there's no gameloop it doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks for developing it though,I'm curious if you have any more developed VR experiences/games with various mobility, inetraction mechanics.

Hello Lunitica,

Thank you for playing Spirit Row. Yes the shark will always catch the player. I could not think of any mechanics besides a high score based game. I will try to expand upon the original concept.

I do not have any other VR experiences with mobility and interaction mechanics. I am very interested in designing for different kinds of mobility. I am especially curious how VR could help those with physical disabilities.
