I tried the game last night thinking it could possibly be another fun relaxing puzzle-ish title, but I ended up unable to do much because I could really SEE where to even begin with the semi-transparent and very small globs of light you need to pinch to complete the line being bordrrline invisible amongst the pink backdrop (I couldn't switch to MR mode, which leads to 2-3 other issues I had...).
I also see no reason why hand tracking should be forced in this game outside of trying to force an unnecessary gimmick, but the hand tracking itself did work. The menu on the other hand is terribly set up, requiring me to hold one hand backwards in an awkward way to keep the menu from disappearing whilst I was trying to select an option with my other hand (and it not working...).
The option to go into Mixed Reality mode also completely stopped working the moment I turned my hand tracking on. It turned off and become impossible to turn back on no matter what I did, making the game basically unplayable due to inept color scheming and the thoughtless idea to make the actual" puzzle" EXTREMELY small and almost invisible within the terrible VR design.
Also recentering does absolutely nothing to move the game into more comfortable positions, so playing while seated was a bit of a chore as well...
Overall, I'm very disappointed. I know it's still in 'Early Access', but the game (on top of the inherent issues built into it currently) also seems to run on old arcade design. One where if you get s game over from that d*mn timer going off before I can even SEE wtf I need to do, you are starting from Lesson 1 again, with the same going for any time you even simply stop the game. Zero incentive to play games like that, not for my money at least.
So I can't see myself keeping this one, which is disappointing given the promise the basic premise of the title had if executed much better..
Good concept, but the time limit is short and annoying in later stages, then game must restart from Level 1. Need more modes and contents, this time-limit could be one of the modes, but should not be the only one. Looking forward to future updates and may revise my rating.
I would give this five stars if it wasn't for the unnecessary time limit per puzzle! I would love to enjoy the development you guys work so hard for, but so far I have to hurry up and tether! Perhaps a Zen mode in the future?? 🤞
This game is tough! I just died on lesson 5 with all the ghost dots running around. 😂 Few days ago, on my first two tries, I had no idea that the green bars were a time bomb and I kept running out the clock and dying on lesson 2. But if you are playing it right, lesson 3 is reconsider, lesson 4 is Jane, lesson 5 is Feber...
Say devs, can you make a lesson select so that I don't have to keep replaying the 2 dimension lessons at the beginning?
I purchased this a few days ago and was surprised at how fun such a simple concept can be. All you're doing is connecting "dots" but add in the element of a timer and complex shapes, it becomes an addictive challenge. I've noticed a few things I really hope the devs can polish and improve--the first is that switching from VR to the MR mode is clunky and often fails. This doesn't impact gameplay, but selecting the MR mode is very, very finicky and usually takes 4-5 attempts before it switches. I play seated and I've also had some difficulty "centering" the game so that the dots are placed properly so I can get to them. Since you're using hand-tracking, you can't just hold the menu button on the right controller to re-center the game--I struggle because (especially in MR mode) the dots get far too low and close to play properly. If the devs just polish this up just a bit, it'll be a 5-star game. Still, don't let these smaller issues dissuade you from buying this--it's a really fun game and I just happen to be the first person to review it upon the initial release. Hopefully the devs will roll out some QOL patches addressing this smaller stuff.
