Exactly what I was looking for....

So this game is early access and not without its areas that need improvement of course, but jesus it's fun, even in its current state!!!! And the reviews saying it's "intense" are bang on the money, had me audibly crapping my pants at one point! All that and I haven't even mapped multiple rooms yet, just been surviving the horde in my tiny living room so far!

This is my first review since I bought the Quest 3 and one of the only reviews I have left over the years at all, but I needed to tell people who are on the fence about this game to just DO IT! Particularly now when it's on sale, you will not regret it! Plus the developer seems to be very responsive and takes constructive criticism really well so far when adding updates!

Overall this is exactly the type of game I thought of when I bought my VR and it is largely responsible for me not having buyers remorse so far (got a few other games but not had a chance to play them properly and the ones I did try were not all that good, until now!!!)

Feedback sorry far......

1. Could do with a little more variety on weapons, but not a huge problem at this stage. Developer has mentioned that melee may come soon which will be a huge improvement for realism/immersion.

2. A few more tutorial/hint messages at the beginning, explaining to people new to VR what will happen in mixed reality and how to play, again though not a major thing, will just effect the people with limited gaming experience.

3. Developer should offer a 15 minute free trial 100%. I was on the fence about this game and ended up buying out of the remainder of my quest voucher that came with my headset, on a whim if you will.

But if I had got a 15 minute trial first to see exactly what this game was all about, I would have paid twice what I did IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!

Maybe stats say otherwise about free trials, but for me this would be the best move at this point, people need to see this game ASAP!

Keep up the good work Devs, loving this game!

A bang for your buck

This game is honestly such a cool idea and it materialized a thought ive had for a while, a walking dead-like experience in your own home. Its pretty cool how such games are remaking the game and how AR and VR can work.

Honestly this game is really cool and it currently has a couple different modes to try out which provide experiences that range from scary to slightly leas scary and i highly suggest everyone try it, however, i do have a couple improvements i want to suggest because i see true potential in this game and i want to help partake in its plan. I enjoyed the gameplay but i found a couple features that sort of broke the immersiveness like how small the gun is and how it somehow grows bigger when you unholster it. I also would love if you could make it so that the zombie wave eases in, because i find it gets rather quite chaotic quick. I would LOVE if you could add melee mechanics because i find that i run out of ammo quick and sometimes i just wanna whack a zombie in the face ya know.

I will also update the developer more in private messages if i see any other rooms for improvements but guys please be more mindful with your reviews, this game is in early access and in its most vulnerable state. This is a solo developer pouring his heart out into this game project so respect that and be mindful of that fact, we should be encouraging indie developers to keep at it rather than put them down, that being said its been a pleasure to play this game and i reckon ill be playing this game as a default now.

(Btw if your home is big enough, the multi room feature is a must-try, its levels ahead in terms of immersion and really gives you a scare)

Really solid zombie game

As of the last update, the game has become really good. The day/night time along with the multiple rooms setup is really fun. The new zombies keep you on your feet and the mechanics have really improved. I really like the style of the doors and windows too amd for anyone wondering you can turn off the guardian lines off in the settings, it took me a sec to think of that

Needs more work

There was not enough ammunition to clear rounds and no melee backup option so progress was quickly halted. Weapon handling of the pistol included a cosmetic action, reloading only requires clip to be inserted. No clip exit animation. Two handed weapons snap hands to predefined positions that break immersion, more handling points would help here. Zombies AI made them wander aimlessly in and out of one entry point, hit reaction animations and attacks have no variety. Mixed reality 'darkness' does not allow vertical movement of the flashlight yet its stuck to your head like a turret. I could not look down to see any crates or ammunition, nor any actual obstacles that I might otherwise be able to circumnavigate. Hoping it improves, right now the interface looks nice but the gameplay needs a lot more attention.

The good and the annoying!

First off, this type of gameplay shines in mixed reality. Fun, makes you move around and get a tiny bit of exercise.

There are some annoyances though that can wreck runs and i'm not sure if these are bugs or if i'm just doing it wrong.

Dropping a weapon sometimes makes it just disappear.

Example: holding the normal gun in right hand, picking up the shotgun with left hand then dropping the shotgun will sometimes just remove the shotgun from the game area.

Sometimes a new weapon box will not spawn at all, could be my map layout or i'm just blind though.

Weapons getting stuck in zombies faces: while more realistic than having them clip through, creates annoying scenarios with longer weapons such as the rifle when you are swarmed with zombies, but this might be intended design.

When running in horror mode its practically impossible to see any crates and the flashlight is positioned in such a way that it only shines forward, so i have ended up not even finishing round 1 sometimes due to not actually finding a weapon.

Overall this MR game got a lot of potential if the creator gives it enough love and care!

Thanks so much for the thoughtful feedback — it was super helpful and directly shaped the latest update!

You mentioned the disappearing weapon issue — great catch. What’s actually happening is part of the auto-holster system: when you drop a weapon and move away, it returns to your holster so you don’t lose it. But if that slot is already blocked (like by another weapon or object), the game tries to send it to a free backpack slot instead. Totally understandable that this felt like a bug — I’ve now made the system much clearer with visual cues and a more intuitive layout.

Here’s what’s new based on your feedback:

- Flashlight now follows your head movement for better visibility in horror mode.
- Weapons no longer collide in zombie combat — this makes close-range fights smoother, especially with longer guns like the rifle.
- Holster & backpack systems have been redesigned: better grab range, clearer visual feedback, and smoother item storage — especially when slots are full.
- Crates emit a purple flash and beam into the sky to make them easier to find, especially in dark maps.
- Unused items now flash purple so you can find gear more easily.
- Tutorial images now display during loading screens to help new players pick up the mechanics faster.

Thanks again — your feedback genuinely helps make the game better. I really appreciate the time you took, and I hope the update makes the experience even more fun! 🙏

Bad

It would not scan or calibrate my house.

Hey! Thanks for letting me know you’re having trouble scanning your house. There could be a few reasons for this, so here are some quick things to check:

1. Permissions: Make sure the game has permission to access your space setup on your Meta Quest. This usually pops up the first time you launch the game, but you can also check anytime in Settings > Privacy and Safety > App Permissions > Spatial Data > Spatial Zombies.

2. Space Setup: Double-check that your physical space is properly set up by going to Settings > Environment Setup > Space Setup on your device.

3. Clear Physical Space History: If your space is set up but you’re seeing weird “ghost” walls, rooms, or doors that shouldn’t be there, try clearing your space history. Just head to Settings > Privacy and Safety > Device Permissions > Clear Physical Space History and then set up your room again.

If you still run into issues, don’t hesitate to email me anytime at "FT_Studio@outlook.de" — I’m here to help!

Also, if you manage to get it working, I’d really appreciate it if you could update your review. Thanks so much for playing and supporting the game.
