I reinstalled the game after some time, hoping to find some interesting new features. Unfortunately, I noticed that the automatic food suction function towards the worm's mouth, introduced in an old update, is still present.
Personally, I never appreciated this change: the game, which was already accessible and fun, has become too simple and loses part of its charm. The idea that the food "gets sucked" makes the experience less active, almost as if it were the food that looks for the worm, and not the other way around.
Furthermore, considering how much mixed reality has evolved in recent years, I think it would really be the perfect time to introduce it in this game too.
Being able to move freely in your room, with wall recognition and static occlusion of real objects, would give new life to the gameplay and make it much more immersive.
Years ago I gave 5 stars because I found the basic idea original and well-made. But after the introduction of automatic suction (not deactivatable) and the lack of significant updates, especially regarding mixed reality, I unfortunately have to revise my rating.
This review is not intended to be a negative criticism in itself, but a constructive stimulus. I believe that the development team has the talent and ability to take this game to an even higher level. I really hope to see these improvements in a future update.
I never keep games. I played this five minutes and immediately got two more copies for friends.
Get in the main store!!
Update: Played with friends and there are issues. Easy to connect to a custom room (like walkabout), gameplay is fun. However,
1. There is overlapping music when starting and dying -- cut or pause one when playing a new one!
2. Music is so loud we can't talk. It is cool music so give us a volume slider please!
3. The player list won't scroll for me.
Basically this game is gud but needs some basic quality of life updates.
Best underrated casual game on Meta. Can’t believe this wasn’t available on the store sooner.
Imagine not wanting to be a slithery little snake
Am I missing something? This isn't even up to the standard of worms from the floppy disk era. It's at the level of a three year old making toys "zoom through the air". Don't waste your money.
I absolutely love this game it's only £1 and you get a lot of content but it'd be so much better if there was a passthrough map or something as I find myself hitting my surroundings alot more that other games.
