This is a good game that could be a great game. The basic mechanics of it works really well, and it's fun to play. The problem is too little player control. And by control, I mean, control over one's own life. It's okay to have missions if someone wants to take a mission or they're not sure what they can do or should do. Ultimately, the player should be pretty much autonomous. The goal can still be to upgrade your ship to perform better as well as make enough money to pay back your debt. But other than that, let the player go where they want, salvage what they want. Like, initially, due to storage and fuel, they operate locally picking up low level salvage, but as they upgrade their ship, they're able to go further and further out, getting the more valuable salvage (also, if the player runs out of fuel, emergency services should cut into their profits). And as well allow the player to actually pay back their debt. So they can spend their money to upgrade the equipment or they can spend their money to cut down on what they owe. You can even throw in an interest charge to motivate them to want to pay some of the debt in order to prevent the amount due to rise. But the bottom line is just doing one mission after another is boring and monotonous... Like you didn't really accomplish anything.
I used to love this game. Reinstalled it to play some more and it loads the cut scenes and such but any level and I mean any mission Doesn't load it is like a black screen, I have tried everything out of my 60+ games this is the only one giving me any issues. I have reinstalled and cleared data and as we no there is no cloud backup so as far as I am concerned this game is unplayable. Sad too, that mean we get our money back? Was this abandoned.
The game has great atmosphere and I like that I can play from a seated position. It seems like upgrades are locked behind a license / progression limit, which is fine to an extent but if I want to grind lower level missions to out-level main content I think that should be an option.
The primary issue I have is that the controls are all or nothing between thumb-sticks and grip for throttle and yoke. Throttle locks at the last position when you let go in grip mode, which I usually don't want. Hitting a button before release to lock would be nice, or even allowing grip yoke and stick throttle would be nice. As it is, if you enable thumb-sticks you can no longer grasp the yoke or the throttle. It's a lot of preferences to set up, but allowing players to customize the controls more precisely would go a long way toward eliminating the frustrating aspects of an otherwise enjoyable game.
Nice but way too much expensive for so tiny contents. Pitty...
Game had me for a second, then I had to fight the terrible controls in regards to using the "lasso" thing to move things. Maps a small and repetitive.
On a positive note it's not buggy and looks decent.
If you’re expecting Hardspace Shipbreaker in VR you’re going to be disappointed. If you’re expecting an arcade style space job simulator with basic flight mechanics, basic combat, and a tongue in cheek story, you’ll have a good time.
