Shuttle Commander is an accurate physics-based flight simulator where you take to the controls of the space shuttle and land it at various real-world landing sites such as Kennedy Space Centre, White Sands Air Force Base and Edwards Air Force Base. Players can also experience the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope from the cockpit of Discovery in a real time launch experience using original NASA cockpit audio and mission data. Finally, you can view some of the amazing imagery from the Hubble Space Telescope which has been collecting data over the past 30 years from 568 kilometres above us.

I like everything about it, especially the landing simulator, but I have an issue where the landing controls are bonded to the thumb stick, and not the left hand controller. I keep trying to switch the setting it didn't work. I even tried redownloading the app and it still didn't work.
Aside from that it's well worth the price if you're interested in this sort of thing.
I'm not getting any of the missions. I'm only getting the launch and landing missions.
So bad because I thought it was a flying game and I paid for it to
I love anything to do with the Space Shuttle. However, I don’t usually like to compare between platforms but I have this on another platform and it is much better and for the same price.
The detail of the inside of the Space Shuttle between the two platforms are identical. No realism whatsoever, really poor quality detail.
You also get the same landing sims. Although, the Meta version is more smoother and better to control.
Here’s the differences.
In the Meta version, you get a tour of the Space Shuttle but not any missions.
In my other platform, you don’t get the Space Shuttle tour but you do get a couple of missions.
These are: Operating the Canada Arm by moving objects and the main large mission, is capturing the Hubble Space Telescope and replacing the defective parts (WifPic Camera, gyros etc) that made the real Hubble blurred.
The majority of us are using the Meta 3 headset now, so graphics and memory shouldn’t be an issue. So, If you could add these missions to this app, pretty sure the Star rating would soar a lot higher. So, maybe you could implement this in a future update? I won’t hold my breath though!
Piloting the Shuttle to its Landing Site is really good and I like the idea of how to control the pitch, roll and yaw compared to the other Platform.
The library of images shown from the Hubble Telescope, are the same in both platforms. However, after watching once but then return a couple of days later, it no longer shows you the Hubble images. Instead it takes you to a Landing Simulator to land the Shuttle at KSC in cloudy conditions. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but the Hubble images section has completely disappeared and there is no cache to clear, in case it’s frozen in memory.
An issue on playback of your landing mission. The Shuttle only has one wheel on its nose gear and it’s a double wheel strut. Did it fall off when extending the gear to land?
One other minor bug in the “Lift Off” section. The compass on both Commander and Pilot’s panel are reversed - Thus W—E should be E—W with the N being reversed as well.
Unable to apply for refund, as I’ve had the game for well over 2hrs but it’s fairly obvious that the Devs do not read these reviews, to either workout a patch, or at the very least, reply to you. They’ve had your money. So, you either have to live with the defects of this Simulator or uninstall it at your loss.
Original review written several weeks ago but adding defects to the list, that I’m slowly coming across.
Played it just a few times now it won’t load up. Don’t know what happened, there has been no way to get help either.
I enjoyed playing this game. I absolutely loved the challenge of landing the shuttle and the fact that there are a number of landing runs, locations and environment to chose from. It feels realistic but would feel even more realistic if even just a few buttons were interactive in the cockpit.
Unfortunatly, for some reason the framerate drops significantly with the weather conditions are ramped up to the max in night time. I just ajust accordingly.
I would suggest giving this game a slight graphic improvement and perhaps making a few buttons interactive in the cockpit. Wouldn't have to be an all or nothing kinda improvement.
I'd would happily increase my star rating 😉
Eitherway, glad I got the opportunity to play this game.
