● A room-scale BULLET HELL shooter experience, inspired by 1980s arcade RETRO classics.
● With your spare hand, snatch a POWER-UP out of the air to get the jump on your enemies. A CHAINSAW? A YO-YO? Is that a SHARK ON A FREAKIN’ STICK?
● Want to just chill in your armchair? That’s OK! Switch to CHILL difficulty and take it easy, couch potato.
● Want an extra challenge? Just switch the game difficulty to OVERDRIVE! (Nice knowing you BTW)
● But you’re not done yet... Go back and fly challenging side missions to unlock an entire SQUADRON of diverse pilots.
● Shooty Skies Overdrive is cross-buy enabled for Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest.

Fast and fun enjoy the 80s graphics
Fun game but arcade mode is broken and the campaign is short
This isn't a bad little game, but it could have been a great one. There isn't much content, 4 stages with another final boss stage. There are TONS of pilots, but the problem is they are incredibly tedious to unlock and all basically the same. If they have different guns or health or something to make it interesting. Also the Arcade mode is broken or missing at the time of this review. If this game was 2-3 dollars maybe a recommend to show people new to VR.
Used to play shooty skies a lot on my mobile in my younger days and when I saw this on the meta store (and on sale no less), I had to get it. Do not regret my decision for a second but sometimes I do wonder if the developers plan on making the game multiplayer? I mean don't get me wrong, the game is wicked fun as is but inclusion of multiplayer would make it even more fun. I hope the developers are reading this and it gives them some incentive to develop a multiplayer mode. Still, kudos for making such a fun and addictive game.
Had this when I got my quest 2 and enjoyed the first 15 mins or so then it just gets repetitive. Maybe if they released a quest 3 update for room shooting etc might make it more interactive. Be good if they linked a mobile app so players could be objects attacking you and not feel so isolated. Maybe I’ll jump in it again and change my view. Give it a go as will appeal to the retro shooter generation but it’s not the days of 80’s uprights.
The first time I played VR was on the Oculus 2 and this was one of the first games I played that captured my interest in VR. I had to sell my Quest 2 during Covid and didn’t get to play it much.
Fast forward to now, I just got my son a Quest 3 and looking forward to playing this game again. It seems like a lot of games have been getting updates for the Quest 3 and I hope this one will soon.
