The good: The game is fun and really engaging. The graphics are good. And interaction is good. The mystery was a good challenge and. I really enjoyed it.
The bad: Its a bit short and the ending seems rushed, because of all of the timed based limitations. Also the scenes with Watson are cool but the users perspective is extreamly short, like being a 4 year old short, and the video is a bit out of focus or distorted.
Overall, its totally worth the current $12 price tag. As it is developed more, I would like to see multiple mysteries to explore and less time based limitations. The i could see it being worth around $25 or more, depending on the the number of mysteries available.
Really enjoying the game so far. To make the game a bit more immersive and enjoyable, I have a few suggestions for the developers.
1. The video segments in the game could do with a rewind feature as well as subtitles so that you could go back if you missed a sentence or two.
2. There should be an option where you could solve the case without a time limit (although the time limit makes sense and gives a sense of urgency).
3. It would really make the game more immersive if you could freely move within a crime scene.
4. Lastly, also not a very valid point; the actors (who did a stellar job) could have done with a more fitting attire to the time period.
I'm hoping that in the near future, new cases would be added as DLC content.
Playing alone was fun. When trying to play with 2 friends, one player never was able to be seen in the game.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and I think it has the potential to be a great game.
However, the fact that everything you did was timed made it a very short game for the money. I would have loved to have spent more time in Yard on the computer, also more time in the victim’s homes to wander about at my leisure.
The main bug I encountered was the fact that I couldn’t put unused evidence back on the bench.
Interesting story. However, it being in early access and all, I hope this helps!
The rooms are a little weird to be in, it would feel better for the player if there was a map in which to stand and interact with the clues in the rooms. I've never made a game and don't know how it works, though.
The only bug I really encountered while playing normally was that I couldn't place 'evidence' that I deemed 'unhelpful' back onto the counter in front of the board.
I'm not sure how, but I somehow knew who it was the moment you showed all the suspects (or at least had it down to two people). The only thing I can say is perhaps my gut picked up on a hint that was either placed intentionally or unintentionally in the scripts.
While going through the 'evidence', I had not actually read or gone through over half of it when I'd made the decision as to who it is due to the time limit and my dyslexia causing it to be hard for me to read it, so if there was perhaps a work-around for people who have a harder time reading quickly, or move at a slower pace? On the same note, however, the quick pace was also more challenging, and I learned I work better under a time limit than I anticipated; I just know some people don't do well with time limits and can't enjoy the game properly.
Summary:
-Bug: Could not place evidence on shelf in front of board.
- Notes: High anticipation of maps and better world interaction, high anticipation of added or changed story/stories.
- Consumer Requests: More characters, option to play 'easy', 'normal', or 'hard' for different ages or intelligence types, easy-to-read evidence option (some people can't read cursive or have dyslexia), and an option to play a non-timed game? Also, please please add an option for smooth-turning?
Overall good story, good concept, can't wait to see what happens once it's out of early access! I apologize if any of this was unhelpful or unwanted, but I do hope this helps even if a little bit! Keep up the good work!
I just happened to run across this well put together mystery, I thought it was very well put together really glad to have happened to run across it, I take my hat off to you well done developers very well done I truly hope you're able to come up with a new case to solve would definitely purchase it.
