This game is absolutely amazing the visuals the characters and the cutscenes are amazing I hope we see a sequel or more content taking place after the main story.
This is my TOP 3 VR game in my life.
Best story, Character design, music and voice actors ☺️☺️
Good voice acting, looks nice, fun gameplay, and an interesting story. I would love a sequel. Definitely not a game I'll forget about anytime soon.
UPDATE 2: I give up. I have still been unable to get through this game in large part because the geniudes who developed it refuse to add in Cloud Backup support. So having had to factory reset my Quest 3 very recently, I lost hours upon hours of hard and very repetitive work (for the 3rd time!). I also seen how the developers still never added auto mode for the characters to just talk organically without you staying on guard to press A over and over again, and no way to get rid of the HUGE dialogue boxes that STAY IN THE WAY OF THE FU*FFNG CHARACTER THAT'S TALKING!
No updates, no care for their way overpriced game it seems.
I HATE having lost money to a game that has so many sloppy aspects to it.
So no updates are ever coming, you get what you get here. Which is already $25 over priced due to the lack of care and content. Get your RPG fix eleswhere (this really isn't much AT ALL in terms of RPG mechanics anyway) as well as any other animegesque VR game. This is not worth it.
UPDATE: I just found out that this must be the ONE game I've played that DOES NOT use the Cloud Back-up system...
I had to factory reset my device twice, and when deciding to play this game again and my hours of progress GONE! I was half-way through the overly repetitive game the SECOND time this happened to me... So not sure if it's a Cloud Save issue or just a glitch in the game.
Definitely knocking off a star or two for that due to any device problems, or even getting a new device like the Quest 3, I'll lose ALL data yet again, leading to hours of potentially wasted time (the game is massively repetitive as is WITHOUT literally STARTING ALL OVER).
Due to the game being so massively repetitive in environments, the combat, and there being nothing but dungeon crawling in lifeless copy-pasted short dungeons (which I'll play Dungeons of Eternity for), the town and characters being almost non-existent and unexplorable, and there being no real story to hook and push me through doing this crap ALL OVER because of how saves are stored; the game hasn't been touched in months.
The developers seem to have thrown it wayside, and the actual content for much more than a tech demo is hardly there...
It's disappointing since it teased a world, characters, and RPG-esquegameplay that captivated for a week, but lost me when I realized it showed it's ENTIREhand in the first 30 minutes...
Definitely $25 over-priced as is. I promise..
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Love the light-hearted anime feel of the game, and the combat is nice and mostly fun (though a lot more true RPG elements would've went a long way). The repetitive design of the Ruins and creatures hasn't worn thin yet in the short half hour bursts I play it in a day.
The music is also a joy to hear and takes me back to my years of playing games like tge Final Fantasy series and Chrono Cross (amongst a few anime series too).
Things that annoy me a bit are the text boxes. I have VERY limited vision/ zero peripheral vision, so I can only see half the text in the boxes, and since they move with your head, I've no way of reading it (thank God for English voice overs fir the more important bits I guess).
I'm overall very happy to have come across this fun light VR dungeon crawler with great anime aesthetics.
Highly recommend.
There is something about being able to stand wherever you want whilst the cut scenes are taking place. The subtitles are definitely a hassle as they kind of make it hard to look at the characters in a fully immersive way ( they cover the face when you are looking at them ).
The opening scene where Iris grabs you by the arm feels like you were actually grabbed by the character. And more interactions like this would be welcome as they add to the opportunities to become closer to main characters.
The battle system feels rusty.
Your grenades and healing items are all in one area of the body and you have to scroll in one direction to access them. If you scroll past something you need, it seems you have to keep going until you find it again.
It might have flowed better in battle if healing potions were located somewhere like your hip rather than everything being bundled on your chest. It makes the game a bit clumpy feeling and means you are constantly having to look down at what you are grabbing instead of focusing on the battle.
The constant camera movement because of this can cause some motion sickness, which is a shame as mostly it's a great game.
The technology is definitely going somewhere. I knew when I saw Criware in the opening credits that this was going to be my kind of game.
What I really love is that when you are facing a character, their eyes follow you through clever positioning of the static images. You can stand, kneel or sit either side of them and it looks like they are always looking right at you.
With a few tweaks, this developer could likely create some of the best interaction and immersive experiences for VR.
I found for me the main attraction of this game is not the dungeons, although they are a nice feature. The environments outside of that and the characters interactions are the reason I go back to this game. I'd like to see this area be expanded on.
This game is a top 3 VR game for me. It is such a beautiful game. Everything goes together incredibly well. The characters are all so unique and engaging. The scenery gets better and better as you progress further in your journey. Great amount of plot twists on the journey that keep things fresh throughout. Enemies, magic, boss battles are all incredible. This game just sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. I absolutely love this game. The connection you make with certain characters really feels special. I wish they would make more games like this. An experience like this should not be missed!
PS: I forgot to mention that the music and voice acting is incredible as well!
