This game is extremely well-made and lots of fun! It requires some real hand-eye coordination and multitasking, which can occasionally be difficult, but that's ok, it's worth the challenge. The driving is smooth, the shooting is accurate and clean, and the missions are cool. The graphics make me feel like a delivery driver in Futurama, hyper stylish stuff. GREAT WORK DEVS!
My only complaint is that the button that "speeds up" the dialogue, like you press B once and the scrolling text instantly populates, does NOT do that for the last line of dialogue in any given conversation. Instead, it skips that dialogue completely, often causing me to miss what would have been said. Hopefully it's an easy fix but it's not bad enough to lower my rating from 5 stars.
Retronika is a very satisfying game to play. Cel-shaded graphics are simple but nice to look at, and all the moving objects around you create strong immersion. The gameplay is smooth and I love the upgrade system.
However, not being able to utilize vertical movement while holding the gun might be a game-breaker for me. I'm not sure if this was a conscious choice by the devs, but it doesn't really add any value to the game, other than throwing in unrealistic difficulty. Couldn't difficulty be increased in another way that doesn't hinder gameplay?
Also, how in the world do I activate the shields that I purchased? I can see it in the middle of my bike's handlebar, but none of the buttons on my controllers activate them. As is, they're useless.
Please consider allowing vertical movement to be controlled with one hand on the handlebars, and not just two. And please include some information somewhere for how to use the shields!
The easy difficulty was just challenging enough for me to finish the game. I don't see how it is possible to play this without changing the command to joystick.
Drive with one hand and shoot with the other. If you love this game like i do, try GAZZLER. Good job Devs !
Quirky, fun, fast-paced and action-packed! The art style is really cool and unique. I just wish you could preview cosmetic upgrades before you spend precious (in-game) credits on them. Looking forward to more!
This is great. I took a gamble and had the sick bucket at the ready, but had no issues at all with the motion. Great controls and I like how the game eases you in. Robot guy calling me sweetheart was an added bonus.
Can see me enjoying this for a while.
Please make it multiplayer.
Very Fun.
Very Intuitive.
Different.
Stylish.
Cool.
For who thinks that it is too difficult: Learn how to Ride with one hand and shoot with the other one and you will end the game. Just sometimes stop and shoot both hands to clean up the drones.
SUPERB FOR THE PRICE!
