A great sequel so far !

I could feel the atmosphere of the first RM continue on the moment I started playing. Great graphics, the background music adds a sense of tension without being obtrusive. Take your time to explore the important and not so important objects as you move around. Exploring and taking your time will help you get more from the game. Again the graphics are top notch too. Kudos to the development team. I hope they follow RM and RM2 with more.

It's a AAA game that is really well made

This game is a real marvel! The graphics are super nice when you look at the planets and the surfaces you walk on that can shine like glass or be robust like lava to peering into space at Saturn and it's rings! Gameplay is also superb with it's innovative hacking mechanics and puzzels. I played the first game and liked it a lot but didn't think they could top that. Wait whaaaat they did? Oh yeah red matter 2 is even better! If this studio would make something like this but in a tomb raider style setting with ruines and stuff I would throw my money at them!

Just well done!

Gold standard

This game is the golf standard for vr. Smooth operation, no glitches, exceptional graphics, and attention to detail. A good story with puzzles and shooting well balanced. Definitely a strong argument for aspects of Nick Bostrom's simulation hypothesis......oh there's an Easter egg. In one of the cupboards is a vr unit that you can put on in the game. A simulation within a simulation.

Bigger in scope, lesser in impact

RM1 was a wonderful short but sweet horror suspense story that didn't outstay its welcome. RM 2 tries to expand on it but feels like a totally different game. Almost all the suspense elements are gone making it feel like a more generic puzzle platformer with some added combat elements. Its more James Bond in space than RM1. The areas are massive which makes many of the puzzles quite tedious to solve as even at max movement speed you move at a crawl. And the titular Red Matter, while still quite present, feels like a back drop thing rather than anything you're trying to understand as you're just simply chasing after someone. While at the time of this review i haven't finished out yet I'm fairly far in and am probably only going to finish it simply to say i did.

Simply amazing

One of the best games on the Quest imo, if not THE best. Atmosphere, immersion, the puzzles, it's all wonderful. Must play!
