There are so many problems with this game that instead of listing them I’m just going to tell you my 15 minute or so experience with the game. So I spawned in no idea what to do other than a sign telling me to get on the ship and find treasure. So I walked over to the ship and looked at it confused because there was nothing to climb on. It took one or two minutes for me to figure out you just grab any part of the boat and then climb. But in the process of that I went to shoot the boat in frustration just to learn you grab your gun by clipping your hand into the middle of the gun for some reason. Well I made it onto the ship and tried to raise the anchor but it didn’t want to work either. I just ended up wrestling with the anchor for another few minutes while my hands snapped around and I kept on accsidentaly grabbing my sword and gun. The anchor didn’t even stay up. This kind of thing is everywhere in the game, your hands just like to zip around and snap places making hard to control anything especially when using stuff on the ship . After like a minute of that I looked up to see I had sailed like a mile away from the main island because in this game the sails are just always down or at least I think they are. They sure don’t look like it but I’m moving so I assume they are. Well eventually the anchor stayed up. I don’t know what I did or what’s different but it just is. Next I went to an island to collect stuff. The way you do this in the game is by hitting barrels which just vanish when you hit them. Or they just don’t do anything for a few hits depends on what they feel like. That’s when I headed back to the main island to sell the loot. That is if I could figure out how to sell stuff. The thing only lets me buy boats with the money I don’t have because I can’t sell anything. That’s when I quit. This isn’t even mentioning the 10-20 bugs I found while playing some of which are almost game breaking and the total lack of momentum anywhere in the game.
With the activity and serious care this game has been getting lately, I must put my own word onto it, and confirm that Pirates Plunder might soon become one of the best pirate VR games on the market!
Quality + + + + + So many details!
Gameplay + + There's more getting developed as I'm writing this! Including the Multiplayer mode!
Graphics + + + + + An impressive yet original style I have never seen being used in a VR game, and it's getting upgraded soon too! How delightful?
Development + + + + + + + The pure fact this game is being developed by one person is astonishing! The updates are full of additions that we actually need (opposed to other games) getting published very frequently! And the most important bit? He's not getting paid for doing it.
In short words, play the game, go support the Dev, and share your ideas that'll surely be considered in the game's Discord server.
Really good game but would be way cooler to have multiplayer
This has huge potential, the second they add multiplayer this will blow sail out of the water. He has way better islands and way better ships. Looks great and no bugs that I’ve seen. This might be one of the most fun indie games I’ve ever played.
Great game, obviously not done but there is lots of potential ahead
This is a good game like sail vr and sea if thieves, but boats glitch alot and I lose health for no reason, also there are no Jumping mechanics bit I would recommend this game
