OVRDARK IS TENSE AND IMMERSIVE HORROR

This game it does not rely on cheap jumpscares the fear comes from the atmosphere the puzzles and the constant feeling of danger the riddles are well designed some are really challenging and exploring the mansion feels creepy but addictive

I really liked the stealth moments when you have to hide from Mike and try not to move it creates real tension and makes your heart race those moments are some of the best in the game

The save system needs some improvement I lost my manual save because the game auto saved after a scene I also had a bug when replaying the ending where the number pad did not show up so I could not finish it again and I still wonder if the boarded up doors are meant to be opened or are just there to confuse us

I hope they add achievements and better save options in the future still I really recommend it if you like psychological horror with smart puzzles and real tension

Very disappointing and too many bugs

For a Quest 3 only game the graphics aren't even up to Quest 2 standards. Aside from the nicely detailed main menu it looks more like a Quest 1 game. The art direction is all over the place. It seems like they're trying for a realistic style yet the people in the game look like plastic store mannequins.

I ran into numerous bugs and poor design choices in just the first few minutes.

The floor height started out too low and dropped even lower if I leaned down to look at something. During one sequence the game repositioned me in the wrong place so I had to walk forward in my play space to reach an item and continue. It seems like standing and roomscale play was never even tested once during development.

Turning a key in a lock failed to unlock a door. Pushing forward on the thumb stick let me pass right through the door so that glitch has an immersion breaking workaround.

The belt holster is a small floating ring about at the level of my knees. It looks too small to fit around even a super skinny waist.

Grasping items is clunky and immersion breaking. The first thing I picked up was a framed photo and my fingers curled right through it.

The game seems like an early prototype.

I love horror games and I wish there were more on the Quest, but this one's far too sloppy and unfinished to be immersive enough to be the least bit scary.

I'm requesting a refund.

great horror great game

I just finished it and I'm still processing the ending. Its one of those horror games that doesn't abuse the easy jumpscare, but it does keep you with that tension as you explore the mansion. The setting is creepy and gives the costant feeling of being watched. The puzzles werent especially hard to me, which I actually appreciate.

Definitely a game to keep in mind if you like pretty solid horror and puzzle games.

Not for Me I Guess

I gave the game a good chance for the past few days now, but it's just not doing it for me even if it shows promise in places and looks decent outside of some blurry textures (rugs and the like, understandable given its a port from a much more powerful console), but it's overall game design leaves a lot to be desired.
I love classic Survival-Horror and have dozens of escape room and puzzle heavy games (MADiSON VR being the closest to this title, but done much much better there), but this game goes above and beyond aimless wondering and puzzles with zero sign posting.
My objective now leaves me in a room where all I have is 2 pictures and one empty frame, all with 2 buttons under them that do nothing. Nothing else in the room is interactable in the slightest.
Ok, so I wonder some more yet again, now making it to a room with 4 ripped pictures each with different drawings relating to constellations I assume and a red button, each drawn picture having differnt numbers of drawings each from 1 to 4 (apparently this means nothing..). Looking at the ceiling shows said constellations, but there's 6.
No matter the order I tried or logic I put behind my button inputs NOTHING works.
So I've 2 "puzzles", neither of which do anything, no helpful objective, no map, nothing but bordum..
Also, outside of the hands being a bit miscalibrated (an issue complained about even in the original release, not a big deal though), I had a room completely disappear after awhile. Reloading the game doesn't even bring it back, and if I walking in there I fall into a black void as the game's mansion gets higher and higher above me...
So when I would inevitably need to go through there again (the left door when facing the fireplace with the table and save point infront of a staircase), I wouldn't be able to continue anyway...

So though I'll have to just get a refund, the game cdoes show promise as I said. It just doesn't offer anything I offer anything I don't get better elsewhere on top of having game design and technical problems.
