Hi everyone. this is 'Of Lies and Rain' demo!
This preview offers you the chance to explore the game’s opening level, should be about an hour of gameplay. It’s the perfect way in our opinion to get a feel for the experience and decide if it’s worth your money before the full release.
Please keep in mind that we’re a small, dedicated team of just five people, and this is only our second game ever. Over the past two years, we’ve poured our hearts and souls into crafting this adventure, and we’re aiming for a 2025 launch.
We’re not locking in an exact release date yet, our goal is to polish every detail as much as we can. Once it’s ready, we’ll announce the official release.
Enjoy the demo, and thanks for joining us on this journey!"
Of Lies and Rain is a story-driven first-person shooter built exclusively for VR. Set in a dark, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic world, you’ll fight to reclaim your past and save humanity from the brink of extinction.
The world you once knew is gone, and so is your memory. An unfamiliar voice urges you to defeat A.D.E., the AI behind the long lasting 20-year war that has driven humanity into hiding beneath the Earth. The surface is now ruled by hostile machines, new lifeforms fighting for their survival.

I put this on my wishlist as soon as it showed up on coming soon. It's been a while and I hate that there isnt a release date. I happened to be glancing at developers other games on some of my coming soon games and I saw this had a DEMO. I was excited and downloaded it immediately. I really liked it and can't wait for the full version. Its my kinda game! Please hurry!!!!
Really enjoyed it overall and will definitely buy it on release. I just love the physics systems and all the little ways the random items can be used to interact with the world. From using the metal as a shield, to smashing glass and reaching through to unlock the door. So many games have just the weapon as the sole way to interact with the world and its a lost opportunity. Definitely eager to see if there's any more novel uses of the physics systems in the rest of the game. There's a small amount of physics related jank and performance issues when loading, but nothing too bad. The matrix world is amazing - fun movement mechanics are another thing I absolutely love to see in games. The initial enemies though are perhaps a weakness. So far they are a bit lackluster, but this is ok in the first level as long as it picks up later on. I think the force pull on the gloves could be tuned better. Many times I had to try repeatedly to pick up ammo from the ground only for it to not go high enough to grab. Finally the lighting, loved the art direction of contrast with the bright reds over the greys, but its very uniformly bright at times even in areas that don't look like they are directly lit. Hopefully this feedback helps a bit. I look forward to seeing the whole game.
At first I was so excited by the atmosphere, climbing, and exploration. But it got boring real fast. The story, dialogue, and voice acting are bland and cliche. "I've lost my d**n memory... Who the h**l am I?" Seriously?
The simple cube-based graphics work for the environment and initially impressed me for such a small dev, but the enemies are just not scary at all.
Half-Life Alyx works because it's an interesting story with top tier voice acting and genuinely scary enemies.
Edit: OK, this was a bit harsh. If you've never played HLA, this is the closest we've seen so far on the Quest. It is impressive what they have accomplished and it's not fair for me to hold them to PC VR standards. Plus the dialogue is getting less annoying by the end of the demo, so there's hope. Increasing to 3 stars for now.
Late to the party (as always), I have only just picked up and played through this insanely impressive first level demo and am now highly motivated to pick up the full release when it drops, game runs ridiculously smooth on my quest 3, I had only one strange and humourous glitch throughout my playthrough (tried to pick up a padlock, that I'd shot off a locker and the game decided I must die lol), the obvious comparisons to the Half-Life games are there to behold, but the game also displays its own identity, the locations are glorious for standalone vr and my only quibble would be with the default sound levels, but these are changeable within the settings... Excellent game so far and fingers crossed the full release continues to impress.
This game is awesome, everything I've ever wanted in a VR game! I NEED THE FULL VERSION NOW!!!!!
I’m a Metroid fan and the dystopian feel of this brings the same general feeling. I did get some glitching in the matrix a couple times (when you’re climbing in the tunnel and see the card on the crate outside the hole, don’t pull it to you or yours may also end up stuck in the rocky formation making you have to start back at the last save). I’m not the best at unloading/reloading so I wish I could just reload but that’s a me issue. The concept is pretty interesting so far and I will be watching for the full release. I’ll be interested to see if there are more creatures / mechanical species to contend with in the rest of the game because so far, it’s the same 3ish and it was starting to feel repetitive.
