A Storm Worth Stepping Into!!

The moment you step into Of Lies and Rain VR, you know you’re somewhere special. The first thing that hits you is the atmosphere, the rain feels almost alive, the air hums with tension, and every echo whispers fragments of a story you can’t quite grasp yet. It’s haunting, cinematic, and deeply immersive from the first second.

This isn’t just another VR shooter, it’s a psychological storm. Like Half-Life: Alyx, it pulls you into a world that feels tactile and real, where every movement and interaction matters. Yet its mood and tone lean closer to The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, enveloping you in a heavy, lived-in world full of decay, mystery, and consequence.

Where Alyx dazzled with polish and scale, Of Lies and Rain wins with atmosphere and storytelling. It doesn’t try to be a sprawling sandbox; instead, it focuses on tension, memory, and the uneasy line between digital illusion and human emotion. It’s more intimate, a narrative-driven experience that thrives on immersion and introspection.

Sure, it may not match the AAA refinement of Alyx or the survival systems of Saints & Sinners, but that’s not the point. Of Lies and Rain VR proves that powerful VR storytelling doesn’t need endless crafting menus or blockbuster budgets. It just needs heart, vision, and a world that pulls you in so completely you forget where you are.

When the rain falls around you and the lies begin to unravel, you’ll feel it, this is why VR exists.

🎮 Final Verdict:

A haunting, story-driven VR experience that stands proudly beside Half-Life: Alyx and Saints & Sinners, trading scale for soul, and winning.

Amazing adventure

It is so rare that games are this immersive, you can interact with almost anything. The gameplay and the story is super as well, it really captures the Sci fi apocalypse atmosphere. It's crazy that this game was done by a small team.
Small advise, it is worth to read the datapads you find, it gives a lot of details about the world and what happened to it.
For the devs, please continue to make games like this!

Fabulous game on every level

Tried Arkens age, felt cheesy and combat was corny and lame refunded it and knew I had to get this one as I loved the 1 hr demo months ago. Game looks beautiful and brillant, looked good then but seems even better now. Easily wish I could give it 6 stars,

Such a good game

Everything about this game is superb. Even when I have died numerous times, working out how to get through certain areas is intriguing. One of the best games I've played in VR since HLA. We'll done devs

Would Love Quest Achievements

The game is absolutely stunning - and to have this type of depth from a 5 person team is unheard of. I'd love to see Achievements added on the Quest version - Definitely looking forward to playing through.

A great VR game for gamers

Disclaimer: I received the game for free for playtesting it, but I still bought and gifted a couple copies to support the devs. This is an Alyx-inspired VR game with its own personality and mechanics. It’s built from the ground up for VR, with physics puzzles and interactions that only make sense in VR – this is not something you could play on flatscreen. The game mixes a lot of elements: there’s platforming, shooting, puzzles, narrative, and even nostalgic callbacks. The target audience for this are the true gamers. While it's clearly inspired by Alyx, you can’t fairly compare it one-to-one because this is made by a small indie team of just 5 people and they did an amazing job. What you get is a full game with about 10 hours on a first playthrough, with exploration rewarded by hidden lore and worldbuilding. I absolutely recommend exploring the world and watching the story it tells you with the environment. Some dealbreakers to note: you should already be somewhat used to VR since this isn’t baby’s first VR game, it’s not ideal for people with motion sickness, and there’s very little hand-holding. Especially platforming sections some people found too difficult. There are no human NPCs or enemies, just the main character and a voice in your ear, and while most platforming can be skipped, some sections are mandatory. Right now on Meta you are getting only standalone version without the more superior PCVR which is available only on steam. Lastly, quick tip: the pistol, shotgun, and default data-world gun are all you really need if you use them smartly, and for upgrades I’d go triple jump for data worlds first and then laser for the pistol. I want this game to succeed, because I want more of this kind of VR in the future and I hope you can buy it and support the devs.
