Bad enough you have to electrocute a kid to get her loose from chains, but, it didn't get any better from there. The video affects were excellent but the game play is horrible.
I would say it's more like experience than game but it is atmospheric and very laid back the art style is lovely the music is very nice the gameplay it's very minimum and story is head scratching but in kind good way I would recommend it when it's cheap
I've played like 3 parts and didn't know what I was doing, after a couple of years I got back to it from the beginning and got the hang of it. Once I understood what I had to do, and it's pretty simple besides a few bunnies which were hard to get, then it was fun, relaxing, kind of trip of some sort. It's true it's not for everyone but I enjoyed. I wish the story made more sense though.
breathtaking sprawling landscapes uncovering mystery ruins call for you as you follow a little girl crash landed from intense storm guided by a thunderbird into the mechanical heart of the land
you guide the bird from pole to pole, girl follows him through different paths. Choose wisely and you may see real ending, open to interpretation like any good poem
this is high up there with Ico and Rime in my book
This game is one that caught my eye well over a year ago due to it's overall design and concept, but the overtly negative reviews and general lack of real gameplay or story kept me away.
So it now being on sale for a dirt cheap price made me feel more safe trying it out for myself... and everything I read and my original ideas I had after reading, seeing, and hearing things about the game were utterly on point sadly.
The game looks great for the most part, and I love the ambiance of what little I experienced, but the gameplay is 99% nonexistent. This in itself wouldn't at all be an issue for me if there was any kind of actual story being told (which environmental 100% interpretiv "storytelling" doesn't count for me). So you are left with pointing, clicking, and waiting all for nothing but seeing an overly similar landscape in the next area. Rinse and repeat with zero real narrative reward or any drive to keep going. Even if I forced myself to keep going, I definitely would never do it again, making this a massive waste of money. ESPECIALLY at full price. The developers REALLY should have told a cohesive story (didn't evenhave to be deep or complex, just anything wouldhave helped) with a lively character or three at least to carry this "game" as it is currently. Sadly, that's not the case...
So I am getting a refund to get the few dollars I spent on it back that could be spent MUCH better elsewhere.
Could have a some more puzzle elements, because it's basically just clicking the places to fly to in the correct order. Very atmospheric and enigmatic though, so I did enjoy it. If you can think of it as a VR picture book you might have fun with it, too.
