Middle-America, 1999. After a grueling tour that has left them emotionally drained and flat broke, the four members of The New Agenda make it back to their dilapidated home, they have nothing in the fridge, nothing in the bank, and nothing in the future but a whole bunch of questions.
They’re still after an elusive full-length album and they can't even survive a band practice without tearing each other apart. Just when they thought things couldn’t get worse, a supernatural event dubbed “the Feedback” plunges them all into a twisted alternate reality.
In LOVESICK, you assume the role of Sam, the band’s bassist, as he navigates the strange environments imprisoning his bandmates. With each surreal mindscape reflecting the memories, fears, and ambitions of the person trapped within, he is the crumbling band’s last hope.
It’s up to Sam to piece together the mystery behind the Feedback, determine what lies ahead for The New Agenda, and find his bandmates before they're swallowed whole by their own troubled minds.

I wanted to love this game and there were parts that were really neat with cool environments but the controls were pretty bad especially trying to play the bass guitar. It's flops around like a flailing arm blowup man outside a car dealership and the grab mechanics are very iffy in parts and your arms get stuck inside walls and other various objects. I gave this 4 stars because I loved the story and the soundtrack was pretty cool. Some of the puzzles were fun and the environments were very cool just the controls are very lacking and can create a very frustrating experience.
Very good storytelling and interesting mechanics.
Edit: after the 4th reinstall, I had to play entirely from the beginning again and finally was able to progress (although I got zero response from the developers) there was another bug at the very end but after rebooting my headset 4 times I was able to get through. Other than the bugs, and the clunky unfinished controller gameplay, I did enjoy the puzzles, the story, and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of content. I can recommend this on a sale but in it's current state and lack of developer involvement, it's worth about 10 to $12 and you'll most likely feel like you got your money's worth. It does need to be polished and fixed but overall I enjoyed it.
I was really looking forward to this and although I already knew that we were limited to teleport, and the graphics weren't the greatest, and that it was clunky, I wasn't expecting a game breaking bug. This is the second game that has passed through the meta store that has a bug that will keep you from progressing and finishing the game. At least the developers fixed the bug on the other game immediately but I don't even see a response on any of these reviews. I've put time into this and I'm at the graveyard putting together the gravestone and the last piece does not click in it just falls. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times, rebooted my headset, etc and it's still not fixed and of course this is right near the end of the game so I can't get a refund. Again, out of money and they make sure you can't get it back.... If the developers fix this I will update my review but until then I will not recommend this to anybody.
UPDATE- I'm done... I was greatly enjoying the game, but now I'm at a section where I need to get the 3D glasses, but my only hint is that I need the "tag remover tool"...
But the ONLY tag removal tool I can find doesn't do anything on thr glasses, but there is NO sign of any tag remover! 3 days I've looked, but very poor design has ruined the experience for me.
Very disappointed, and not sure I can recommend this title anymore..
OG- The game so far has had good character writing, great music, an excellent look and feel, and ok gameplay that's at least kept my attention from what little I've played.
I REALLY wish they would add Smooth/ Free Rotation though. I can deal with the point & click nature of the game with being teleport only, but Snap Teurn only as well is just being ridiculous...
My one huge issue with the presentation, ESPECIALLY with this being a narratively focused experience more than anything thus far- is that with all of the frequent talking and conversations with other characters, their mouths are NEVER moving. Which really takes me out of it, especially the longer scenes go on where I'm feeling like I'm just seeing dolls being played with while people do voices for them. At one early point, I couldn't even decipher who exactly was speaking in the group between the 2 females because of this mixed with the characters not being very animated in any other wayseither... all of which is sad when everything else was done to such high quality (voice acting, writing, graphics, art direction, music, ect..).
So the lack of mouth animations kills the vibe of this narrative title, but I still say it's absolutely one worth buying.
I thought the story, music, and voice acting were top notch. Visually, the game was going for an art deco style and it looks great in the headset (WAY better than the trailers would have you believe).
Unfortunately the gameplay hurts it. I don't mind teleport & snap turning, but the node based movement was problematic as I would teleport and my hand would get stuck in a wall or shelf or something and be unable to move. The telekinetic grab mechanic was clunky. And the positioning of the guitar felt like it was angled towards the ground and that made those sections difficult to play.
With some refinement, this game is a winner. The story, characters, and music are all terrific.
Just finished the playthrough. I really enjoyed the art style. Bright colors and a unique style that really gives it that punk/rock feel. I thought the voice acting was fantastic. Each character has a unique personality that is discovered as you progress in the story. The puzzles were well thought out. A bit challenging at times but not over the top difficult. Playing the bass takes a little practice. In time I enjoyed it.
My only little complaint is the characters start getting annoying as you progress more and more. I don't want to spoil anything but let's just say this band likes to point fingers at each other over and over again.
All in all a really cool experience that I'd recommend.
