He is very fun just can’t get past the tutorial. That’s the only part I don’t like about it.
This game was overall just not fun and I don’t get motion sickness but this game did it for me and very glitchy and would only let me do one mission
Excellent version for the standalone. Really immersive with lots of interactions and some satisfying use of haptics.
The game has you maintaining your lawn mowers and trimmers. Sharpen your blades on the grinder and you get lovely sparks and some great grindy haptics. You also have to charge the batteries of your equipment. All this is done manually removing them from the machinery.
The game has a plethora of options. Full loco and smooth turn , teleport and click turn, grab or grab toggle, Height adjustment for you and your bag for objects you pick up on the lawns. Hybrid controls so you can go all out with the hands on the wheel or sit back and use analog stick on the fly.
The visuals surprised me. I knew they had turned them cartoony for the Quest version compared to the more realistic looking flat version, what I wasn't prepared for is how good these look in some of the locations with great lighting. It really did feel like a lazy late sunny afternoon mowing outside a thatched cottage in the English countryside especially as the ambient sounds are done so well. You will hear the odd car drive past, a dog barking or siren in the far distance, church bells, insects and birds. Playing the game outside in the back garden is sublime and adds to the atmosphere. Half the time I couldn't tell what was the real audio or the game audio it was that good.
I can tell some real love has been put into this game with all the little touches. If you have played a forklift VR game you will be fine with this one is my guess as it the same sort of movement of mower. The trimmer is also very immersive to use with nice haptics.
Please devs bring the game to PSVR2 with wheel support to go along with the great motion controls and analog controls and I am sure it will be well appreciated over there. I will double dip.
This game goes up there with MudRunner VR, Golf5 and The Climb 2 as some of my most Immersive games on Quest. I ran the batteries down on my Mower, Trimmer and my Quest.
For me the games can overwhelm me with the press here and start this but only when... I just want to mow lawns and enjoy the scenery. I find the controls so frustrating to get the mower to start and then getting it to cut the lawn. It also requires continuous engagement with the left of right trigger for power. It could be simpler and straight forward as it is not a lesson but a lazy game to kind of drift off. Just simplify and don't have so many awkward controls.
UPDATE 3/30/25= This p.o.s. game, after ALL of this time, is REFUSING to let me get past the first maintenance and load up tutorial! Once I get the mower on the lift, I can't get back on to the d@mn thing! NO MATTER WHAT I DO!! I can't even open the battery compartment once it's on the lift!
HOW TF is such a core component of the game THIS F#*&#$G BROKEN?! My god, I've had this game for at least a year, and it seems completely dropped by the devs and is a COMPLETE waste of my hard earned f&ff#&g money!!
I swear to god, if you haven't purchased and wasted your money on this p.o.s, PLEASE don't buy it like the rest of us poor sobs who did.
I want to stand with VR and its developers, but this sh*t is unacceptable...
OG= The game seems like it could be fun enough in that casual VR "job simulator" type of way (ok graphics, good controls, nice gameplay loop mechanics, etc.), but going by many reviews there are plenty of bugs to be had and the developers seem to have given up on spending time updating the game overall.
My bad first impression in noticing it's possibly buggy nature wasJUST as soon as I went back to the garage after the tutorial for your very first drive of the lawn mower.
I get back to the garage, put the mower on the lift, and get up to see instructions to "open mower battery compartment"... ok? For one, it never says how or where that is on this mower, and even when I did find it (my hand randomly had a green pointer light connecting to it when I pointed in it's direction all of a sudden, even though it didn't in the full 5-7 minutes prior...). This didn't matter though, as NOTHING I did would let me interact with the battery door. I tried to raise the lift to see if maybe that was the issue, but alas, MY HANDS WOULD ONLY GO THROUGH THE LIFT'S BUTTONS) Which obviously makes that useless...
So I restarted the game (completely, as reloading the save just had the EXACT same issues..) and I got to this point again, but this time it was a completely different task for whatever reason. Now all I had to do was check my PC and load up the truck for my first contract. But the lift was STILL uninteractable, with my hands going through the buttons ss if it hasn't there at all (my god that better not keep happening..). 🙄
Outside of those oddities (bugs?), the only other smaller issue I've had with the game thus far is being unable to really play while sitting UNLESS you are sitting in an armless chair or one you can easily reach down the sides of while not having to put your arms out toobfar from your body, because sitting in ANYTHING or anywhere else (no big recliners, couches, beds, or the floor or anything even too close to the floor) makes it impossible to reach the blade drop lever on your left or either of the buttons on the right unless you stand up and re-center. EVEN in the default "SEATED" mode..
Not game breaking per se, but still an unnecessary limiting factor and huge annoyance.
I'm giving the game ONE more chance, seeing if I can get through the first contract without any more oddities, as it's too much money to waste on a just barely functioning game. Will update my review depending on this final (?) outing's outcome.
I think I like this game but I can’t ever play it long enough to know for sure. I don’t usually suffer from motion sickness in the car, on the boat or in the Metaverse but this game makes be very nauseous almost immediately
