The game is really good game and the horror mode is really well made with the monsters and the map.
Let me tell you about the horror mode game:your a worker in a mining facility and you got to collect goop but the monsters are protecting it and the big drill is what’s keeping all the power Running and once the powers gone it becomes harder
While often surface level and occasionally confusing, Kong still manages to deliver an interactive, creepy, and sometimes hilariously chaotic experience. It’s surprisingly engaging, especially in private lobbies, where playing with friends brings out the game’s true potential.
If you’re a fan of Gorilla Tag, you’re going to love this VR game that takes the core concept and dials it up with immersive mechanics, smoother visuals, and an added twist: horror mode. What starts as a fun and chaotic game of tag quickly transforms into one of the most intense VR experiences out there.
The movement system stays true to the original — you use only your hands to propel yourself through the environment, which makes the game feel incredibly physical and immersive. There’s no teleporting or thumbstick movement; Whether your scrambling up a wall, the physics feel natural and rewarding.
But where this game really stands out is in its horror mode. The tone shifts immediately — dimly lit maps, eerie ambient sounds, and a growing sense of dread as a monster stalks you in the shadows. It’s genuinely terrifying, especially in VR, where you’re completely surrounded by the experience. The sudden audio cues and minimal HUD make it easy to forget you’re in a game and not being hunted in real life.
Mechanically, the game nails the balance between simplicity and depth. There’s no need for fancy controls — just you, your reflexes, and your environment. The tagging mechanics are responsive, and map design encourages both stealth and speed depending on how you want to play. The horror mode even introduces features like flickering lights, randomly generated enemy paths, and brilliant use of sound to build tension.
Overall, thisd Gorilla Tag-inspired VR game is a wild ride. Whether you’re in it for the sweaty, chaotic fun of regular tag or the white-knuckle terror of horror mode, it’s an experience that proves how powerful VR can be when gameplay and immersion work hand in hand.
Kong is the start of making fan-games GOOD. It's original, the countdown mode and new horror mode is more fun than Gorilla Tag and its clones. All that's needed is more players. Hopefully we can move on from the same garbage slop given to players in every Gorilla Tag-like game and start creating higher quality products such as Kong.
I've supported Trout all through development of this game, knowing he'd make quality product, and now it's available to everyone. Please check it out, it'll only get better with time.
The horror is finally here!
I mean as of now there’s not much to do, and we are still waiting for the horror
