Immerse yourself in a bold new story in the beloved Homeworld saga that brings real-time strategic space battles to VR. In Homeworld: Vast Reaches you play as Fleet Command, controlling your ships in vicious combat against a mysterious new enemy. Through a dramatic single-player campaign, direct your fleet to attack, defend, or capture strategic resources to build up your arsenal of ships and achieve victory.
Experience this strategy space game through a new perspective — get up close and personal to epic space battles, commanding your ships in real-time all around you. Your fleet is at your fingertips in this new Homeworld story where you can execute strategic attacks on your enemies from any direction or angle. This new perspective in VR allows you to build units, shape fleet formations, and orchestrate combat tactics while you're in the middle of the action.
Set between the events of Homeworld 1 and Homeworld 2, you take on the role of Tyrra Soban, a new Fleet Command. Guiding you is Karan S’jet, the legendary hero of Homeworld War, as the original Kushan Mothership is pulled from retirement to serve as the flagship of a new fleet. Together Tyrra and Karan face a new threat, the Radaa, duplicitous interstellar traders who want to obtain your hyperspace core and don’t care if they destroy your Homeworld to get it.

The game follows its roots, the adaptation to VR controls is amazing, and now it really feels you're the Mothership...
Unfortunately, the game constantly crashes to a point where it induces nausea and even Horizon OS is completely unresponsive. Sometimes the only way to solve it is to force restart the headset.
This would be less bad if there were checkpoints on levels as well, so you could quickly jump back in the action after a restart, but after investing 20m into a level and having to fully restart it is just demotivating 😴
There are also multiple reports here stating the same, and the fact there is no update to fix this is just annoying all together. Please get it together and issue an update.
Unplayable, crashes every time.
Stuck not even halfway through the campaign. Game freezes over and over.
sure the game crashes on a few missions and the dialogue script could probably have been reviewed a bit more, but overall a fantastic game that keeps the Homeworld narrative going. I’ve tried a few space RTS VR games on the quest and this one is definitely in the top three.
Disappointed. I'm not sure whether the other reviewers have ever played a Homeworld game? This feels like a very heavily cut-down, uninspired entry to the Homeworld series. Gone are the detailed strategy ideas of 1 & 2, like selectable strike group formations, aggressiveness and defensive selections and the detailed strategic controls that the earlier entries had. Map sizes feel small, yet still incredibly sparse compared to the previous entries as gone are things like the beautiful clouds of dust and massive structures, and where moving the mothership could be part of your strategy, you can't move it at all in this one as it just sits there like a big fat sitting duck. No user unlockable tech-trees to enhance particular strategies. Gone are the lovely cinematics where newly constructed ships would deploy from the mothership construction bays, here they just teleport in where-ever the strike group happens to be. Even the textures and models seem poor, even compared to the original 2000's era games! Biggest issue I have is the frequent lockups, where the headset crashes with a fixed view; sometimes it comes back from the Occulus/Meta menu, but if in the middle of battle, tough, you just lost everything as they sit there. Maybe recommend as a cheap pickup if they fix the lockups.
Had a wave of nostalgia when I saw this app available in the store.
Graphics look great and true to the original, but that’s where the similarity ends.
Game constantly freezes and crashes and I lose all current content. I read that bug fixes have been sent out, but not sure if it has got to mine yet. Would really like to see this fixed, or it will be a quick and disappointing end to a trip down memory !
