Top sniper player here (used to be), and I just wanted to say that im disappointed of how this game turned out over the seasons the devs have provided us. In my opinion, the older seasons were WAY better than the ones now (seasons between 1 and 8 were the best).
If u play the game from a long time, u start to notice u keep seeing the same people over and over again, which it ends up being really boring. The cause of this is because there is 2 or 3 max pages of games (each page containing 12 games in total )
I was a 1v1s player only until the start of this season, I realized it’s not worth to get good at this game because there is really no purpose, it just adds pressure.
I can relate to this when I was really good with sniper and a whole bunch of people start to ask me to 1v1 them, at first, I did ask for a 1v1 but that was like 3 seasons ago, literally last season there were players begging me to 1v1 them and it was just really annoying ngl.
I feel like I did a great decision by just quitting 1v1s this season, like I went from yelling to being chill.
The first 8 season were my favs, after that, I don’t think nobody liked it, especially when they added the scythe, flame cannons, lightning chaser (gay chaser), crystal, and the hammer.
I did meet a lot of friends that I could trust over time, and since I quit 1v1, I don’t really have beef with nobody which is quite nice, maybe a few randoms new to the game now in then.
I think there is no solution to this game at all, especially now that I know that the next season Is going to have even more broken weapons and I guess another ai sort related map.
All in all, just disappointed

Hubs are great for new players to learn the game and have fun. There are mini games that you can activate that gives an interesting change of play for a short time in the hubs. Overshield balances for experience here so players can learn and have fun.

Arena and BR are better for more experienced players, especially arena. For Arena, there's a variety of team games (my fav) and free for all. Be prepared for players to try hard in arena though.

Avoid mobile players everywhere as a few are just ridiculous (move hubs).

Tons of skins are available that the community have made and some maps too.

The community is mostly welcoming with some longer term players too competitive in arena and BR.

Devs have listened to the community overall but difficult to please all, unfortunately some of the OG players make themselves heard more than others and changes have reflected that, when they don't play the game anymore or are biased for their own gameplay. Also it takes time for changes to happen and many are impatient.

The game has definitely changed over the years with more weapons and maps. The Devs update the game with more stuff at least 4 times a year. There are community testers of new items/maps too.

It would be good to have some new features, such as a solo game mode with a basic storyline for GR. This would benefit new players to help them learn and the most popular shooting games have a storyline.

More features for players to achieve would also help too. Personal weapon stats and achievements.

A variety of game modes (social/chill hub, battle royale, arena with multiple modes) offer something for everyone from a more relaxed time to a breakneck speed, kill or be killed, free for all. Gets better with every update. The game I keep my quest charged for! Fly, boost, climb, glide, slide, shoot!

Imma be real here, this is arguably the worst game in the meta store ive ever expirienced these last 4 seasons (16 months worth!!!!)

Lets go over everything thats a problem that the devs refuse to care about because they have a fist up there 🍑

Player base: very egotistical. The last week I've played the game its filled with "kys" or "1v1 me youre never compared to me" or even just slurs. Now do the developers do anything about this. No, just a little report that means nothing unless you want to count a mic ban for 3 days a valid report🤮

Player count: roughly 2 pages worth. Now for those who havent played the game and are wondering how much players are typically in a page. Mabey a Lil over 100. So everyday you expect about 200 players in which half of those players are all about ranked and comp so there's absolutely no variety there🤷‍♂️

Weapons: man am I glad to yap about this. Guns are not balanced at all. Now I understand that you can never truly balance everything in any video game to begin with but this balance team is worse than supercell. In fact I could rant just about every gun in the game and tell you why its unbalanced

Others factors that need to be discussed:

-skins can be pay to win so beware of that

-The currency system is worse than any other game. You earn 600 coins for free when reaching level 100. Problem is a single battlepass costs 1000 and youre forced to wait 4 months for a new season just to get enough

-they barely update the game. The developers are too lazy to have a care about there own game. Every 4 months you will expect a battlepass with horrible skins, one map, another bundle to waste youre money on and mabey just mabey they will add a battle royale map or something

-developers don't care about anything. They have tried to listen to the community on some takes but its not going far at all they need a new dev team immediately

It's season 13 now and I've been playing since season 1. GREAT GAME.

I remember when the only weapons in the game were dual pistols, katana, grenade launcher, rifle, smg, shotgun, revolver, knife of course, and my absolute favorite, the sniper. I rock with the sniper but one thing I wish the devs would add to game are scopes or sight attachments for the sniper.

The game mechanics are on point.

One thing I don't understand is how at least one mobile player ends up cooking everybody with a rifle. When I open gun raiders on my phone it doesn't even give me am option to play from here, it only says launch. The game wants me to open my oculus just so I can play the game.

Other than that, this game fire as he11.

A review from a former comp player, and battle pass graphic designer for two seasons.

This game is a shadow of its former self. Extremely overpowered metas, pay to win skins, and an inability to listen to the community has torn this game to shreds. Balancing has not been even touched upon slightly in any meaningful way for years now. This leaves players with even just a little bit of experience with the ability to curbstomp new players into the ground before they even see it coming. This scares off new potential community members.

There is no quality control for the community made maps and skins coming into the game. Blatantly pay to win skins are in the shop, along with a new community made content being a complete annihilation of the game’s art style. I have worked directly with the devs as a graphic designer on two of the battle passes, making a large portion of both, and was neither credited, and was only compensated for my hours of work with 5 dollars of in game currency.

The competitive players are toxic jerks who spit on anyone who is good at the game and doesn’t follow their strict meta. They are crybabies and will bully people in any way that they can.

Do better Gun Raiders. Bring back the outstanding game we used to love.

Original review from 2022: I think I reviewed this game within my first few days of playing it, but that was… shoot… 6 months ago. I want to start this book report off by saying that Gun Raiders is an outstanding game. It takes movement to the next level with its amazing mechanics, and the armory is just amazing. There are tons of available levels, and various gamemodes of all types. The in game currency isn’t overpriced, and the battle pass provides plenty of free rewards for people who don’t want to spend money. Everyone has the same guns, so nobody has the advantage of more powerful weapons and the deva are always working hard to listen to the community and keep everything balenced. The only major problem with the game isn’t an issue with the game itself, it’s the community. The competitive tournament crowd is pretty chill in general, but there’s an army of 2-9 year olds in the game, and there’s always those adults that think they’re king of fork mountain, and talk constant trash they can’t back up. But this is one of the best games ever made, and it gets a full five stars. The community gets a 3 1/2 stars. (There is a mute all players option in the settings to solve this.) -enkarza 2022
