As soon as I fought for the first time, I came across bugs. When I hit an enemy, I dropped my weapon, my weapons wouldn't go back into their slots, I kept grabbing items instead of my weapons, and the fighting mechanic as a whole is just bad.
So here it is, exactly what VR gaming is most likely going to become….. A hyped up rehashed title that will make a steady stream of cash, while keeping the game playable just enough until it’s time to move on. This is a big fat turd of a game that should be setting the bar. VR got me back into gaming and it companies like these guys are the reason I stopped playing. Honestly a 2 star review just wanted to hide the truth just like this game. The fact that it keeps getting updated and still nothing has changed says a lot.
I don’t understand why people are complaining that it’s difficult, maybe I can’t speak since I’m yet to play but isn’t the point of the game to be difficult like the pc souls games?
Too difficult even with the new amulet. So great combat mechanics if not the best, but zero skill flexibilty, which makes this a niche game in an already niche market due to lack of options because the only point of the game is challenge.. (I'll never understand this audience limiting game design mindset).
So unless you want a game where you'll be lucky to see even the 2nd map after the tutorials, just buy the other melee combat games available, because Grimlord is only for a smaller group of players needlessly challenging Souls-like design that doesn't believe in the OPTION for a more forgiving easier difficulty as nearly every other game has.
So a waste of $30 for me, so be sure to truly think about it before possibly wasting your own money...
Grimlord is the best game ever as I got the game 2 months ago and there is still so much secrets I haven't found and there is so much weapons and combinations to craft. As well as there being weapon skills for boss weapons. The good thing is the game is quite challenging and isn't easy so it makes it fun as you adapt to your enemies.
Here are things I think you should add.
1-Sandbox mode
2-Mods for sandbox mode
3-more festive events like the halloween one
Thanks for Reading this review.
I recently downloaded this game because I like souls like games. The problem is that some attacks go straight through my sword or shield and hit me or sometimes it will play the parry noise like I parried it but kill me anyway. Thats like acknowledging me then still hitting me because it doesn’t like me I’m only on the first level so I can even imagine how terrible the hotboxes will be later. Some common enemies are just way too hard to be common. This may seem like just a hate or rage review but as you can see I gave it two stars so let’s hear some good properties of the game. The game is fun when you’re not facing overly powered enemies and has some decent gameplay. It’s realistic combat wise like making shoulder cuts more effective than snap cuts. (The difference between the two is just moving your wrist vs moving your whole arm) In conclusion, it’s a fun game at first but then it start glitching hit boxes, getting you stuck in the floor, randomly launching you. It’s also really hard, but if you the kind of person who is patient and just laughs off losing all your progress to one tiny glitch then this is the game for you. Make sure to judge if you can handle this before buying it.
To the devs: I appreciate your work but it’s very glitchy, most of these problems can be fixed with some tweaking and reworking some enemies but all in all I just hope you fix the game a little bit.
