NEW HUGE COMBAT UPDATE!

In this Metroidvania FPS adventure, you explore an abandoned lab in Antarctica overrun by monstrous beasts. Print living creatures to use as weapons and survival tools, and take part in a fully voice-acted story as the facility’s sole survivor guides you through an alien ecosystem… but what role did he play in the research station’s downfall?

We’ve been hard at work since launch — and we’ve just released a huge update that greatly improves the combat! Some of the changes:

🔫 5 new radically different weaponized creatures
💪 New upgrade system giving you more choice in how you deal with enemies
🚧 Improved combat spaces to enhance your adrenaline flow
👾 New enemies, fine-tuned behaviors, and better boss fights
💰 Rebalanced loot amounts and ammo costs
🥵 Four difficulty settings
🦾 Many accessibility options
📝 Even more lore to find in the facility
➕ Atmospheric synth-scapes, resolution equal to PCVR, and much more.

Morph into a tiny creature to go into narrow vents by using the Brainlink, or rip obstacles apart with the Grubber. The open world lets you move freely across interconnected maps. Open up new paths by unlocking new creatures to print or finding new items.

Slay enemies, then upgrade your weaponized creatures and the gloves that wield them. When the alien ecosystem fights back, the weapon creatures you print with your gloves will determine your survival.

Genotype is a beautiful Meta Quest 2 game, optimized and updated for Meta Quest 3 and Oculus Rift.

Amazing!!

Genotype is exactly the kind of games I was looking for! I'm gonna give it 5 stars because despite its small flaws I REALLY enjoyed and loved every second of it.

Gameplay, exploration, story, music, shooting, keycards, safe-codes, it's got everything!

My only issues with the game were a huge game-breaking bug in the Maintenance level that had the lever for the water rooms not work (but rebooting my Quest 3 fixed the issue) and also switching weapons (even tho I love playing with the wire when I'm not in a hurry, it can be a bit too hard mid-combat, and rockets are even worse).

Definitely recommend this game to fans of games like Prey (2017)

Great story driven game

This game surprised me. The presentation and graphics are really good and not what we usually find on indie games like this (to me it looks much better on the headset than on videos). I've initially played on PCVR, and when I've tried on Quest 3 I couldn't notice much difference. Interactions feel good, the different types of "guns" are cool and immersive, and the metroidvania formula of exploring the rooms in the facility and progression feels great. My only gripe is that enemies seem to respawn every time you return to an area, but since there is not much ammo around you are kind of out-of-luck if you decide to go to a different section than the one that the game intended you to go (so you need to make sure to always look at the map to verify where you are going, since going to the wrong area may mean you won't have enough ammo for the enemies).

Challenging but amazing game

The gameplay is challenging, but the storyline and action make it well worth it even if you have to start back at checkpoints a few times.

Loved it!

First off, it was so nice to play an action/adventure game
without having to shoot people. That gets old. In this
game you’re interacting with weird creatures, still deadly
but at least not misanthropic.

The graphics are interesting, believable and smooth. The mechanics are smart and seamless and natural. The
storyline is engaging and makes sense. The devs
made this thing right so that it’s actually fun to play!
Genotype is up there with any triple A game.

Excellent

BETTER THAN ALIEN

Masterpiece
Originally i didn’t expect much but blown away on how much fun and immersive this game is.

Pros: game length seems pretty Hefty. Metrovania style with teleport rooms.

Controls are extremely easy to manage and feel fluid and naturally smooth.

Tons of weaponized organism guns with each their own 2nd alternative version to use during upgrading and resetting anytime to use the upgrades you need. Like turning one gun from semi auto to full auto or shotgun.

The story is creepy and fun.

The music provides atmosphere that is perfectly scored for the theme of this game.

Graphics are better than alien rogue vr meta version. If this team ever makes future graphics updates i will be even more blown away.

The crafting system I love. And lost items.

Boss battles feel great with the options of using micro missiles.

Already up to the 4th map and tons left to unlock so ngth wise brilliantly created game.

I appreciate the work and art it took to make this game possible, you guys might be my new fav VR devs. I look forward to whats next from this game and your future projects dlc.

Cons: im picky but cant find a con.

Wish list:
Like many metrovanias itd be nice to have a boss rush mode and hidden surprises and rewards for completing the game.

Fighting the aliens in the snow in day time and nightime outside to see how great the lighting would look

Future games, with your talents, definitely more metrovanias which were always a big fav of mine. Id love to see one day a ratchet and clank style clone game with such great mechanics. And more open world games. Impressed this runs smooth with big maps on quest 3.thanks ill keep an eye out for your future.
