Game is great, support from devs as well

This review has been edited, see bottom for details.

Firstly the games are fun and innovative and work in a variety of environments (a clear space is ideal, but furniture is not the end of the world.)

Getting it to work multiplayer as intended is tricky and online instructions are insufficient.

First you must use the same account on both headsets, two different profiles will not recognize each other in game. Second, you must turn off APP sharing. This can be annoying as App sharing is required for other games to work multiplayer on my two headsets, but once i turned off app sharing i was able to play the game with my daughter.

Very minor thing to note: height difference can matter, my daughter is very young and so on the fish game she was under water and couldn’t get the fish high enough to go into the boat.

I also found the meta hand tracking to fail frequently and have trouble staying on, but i believe this is the meta and not the game. I was able to play several rounds with my daughter before this became too much of a hassle, and these rounds were really fun.

I recommend the game, it is short but has replayability so long as the hand tracking stays working.

The original review was negative based on how unclear it was to connect multiplayer. The in game instructions are very light on detail and online guides were unhelpful or incorrect. That said, the game team were very responsive and helpful, gave me the tip i needed to make it work, and i gave the game a second chance. I’m glad i did. kudos to the team for a great game and great customer support.

The error you're getting is from Meta's App Sharing system (not our game). Have copied the email response here for others that may run into the same issue.

There are two strategies for running the game on two (or more) headsets using one purchased copy of the game:

1) Meta's AppSharing feature only allows the game to be shared on one extra device. So when using Meta's AppSharing you have to have 1 copy of the game for every 2 headsets.
Have your main profile that purchased the game (Jim) on device A and device B. Device B has AppSharing turned on with a secondary profile (Bob). Launch with Jim on device A and Bob on device B and you'll be away laughing. If you attempt to run from Jim with both headsets you'll get the popup you mentioned.

2) I don't know if it's a workaround, but we've found if better to TURN OFF Meta's App Sharing feature. Then you can play Game Night from the same profile (Jim) using as many headsets as you like at the same time. You must turn app sharing off though for this to work. So purchase once, play on as many headsets as you're willing to add your profile too. Most games don't support this (they prefer to block this strategy for the $$), but we wanted everyone in the family to be able to play the game together without having to buy loads of copies.

To conclude, this is the way Meta's system works. It's a bit weird and confusing, but we have no control over it, so it is what it is.

So good

Unbelievably fun game with friends. Only a few minigames but they are super well made.
For under 10 Bucks it‘s great.

multiplayer on shared account issue

This game is great. I bought 4 Quests and bought GameNight twice. Once for me and once for my wife, and we have shared accounts for my two kids. Unfortunately, unlike every other game i have on my Quest, GameNight doesn't seem to allow my kids to play the shared game. I read in your reaction on Mace584 that this actually SHOULD work. I tried to put both games on the same account like you proposed there, but then I got the message that the game was already running on the other Quest. Can this be fixed? I love the game but buying it 4 times for some casual gameplay is a bit much.

Yeah, totally you can play with 2 copies of Game Night and 4 headsets. I've updated the response to Mace584 with more detailed instructions how to work Meta's SharedApps feature.

Dad's headset has "Dad" as primary profile. AppSharing turned off. Launch from Dad
Child A's headset has "Dad" as primary profile, and "Child A" as secondary account. AppSharing turned on. Launch from Child A
Mum's headset has "Mum" as primary profile. AppSharing turned off. Launch from Mum
Child B's headset has "Mum" as primary profile, and "Child B" as secondary account. AppSharing turned on. Launch from Child B

Honestly, Meta made it pretty confusing. On the plus side, this configuration will work for all of your other games.

The other way is to turn OFF App Sharing on all devices. Have "Dad" or "Mum" profile on all headsets. Then launch from the shared profile on all headsets. Fewer games support this strategy however.

Great fun for the family

Really good mixed reality game, very easy to grasp, the games are fun. My nine year old daughter loves this game. Co-location multiplayer is where it's at!

Yeah! Co-location for the win!

Great Fun, But Needs More Games!

This is loads of fun with a small group, but you need a good amount of surrounding space, especially for the train game. Would be a lot more fun with a couple more minigame options. The Plushie Conga line was the reason I bought this and it really delivers!

Haha, I'm so glad you enjoyed the Plushie Conga minigame, I put a lot of love into that one.
Things have slowed down a little over the Easter period, but rest assured that more wild and wonderful minigames are in the works.

Also, I totally hear you about the train game requiring a bit more space. We initially intended you to be able to drive it up and over furniture, but that introduced a number of usability issues. Hopefully we'll be able to solve it.
