Intriguing shooter

Escape from X has some great ideas and potential, but it's taking a while to reach it.

At its old price it was tough to recommend, but now available for under £5 it's well worth a look.

Thanks for giving Escape-from-X a chance and for highlighting the potential — we’re glad the new pricing makes it easier to jump in!

✅ Co-op is coming soon, and with it, a big piece of our vision: playing shoulder-to-shoulder with friends in tactical raids.

🤖 We're also building minimalistic AI agent models to make enemy behavior feel more like human players — without the rage-inducing experience of cheaters. One of our core goals is to create bots that feel like real opponents so you can train, enjoy, and strategize like a true Navy SEAL.

📖 And as of version 0.7.0, Seasonal Storytelling is live. We just launched the first version of it — a barebones 0.0.1 of a system that we plan to grow for the next 10 years. We're committed to building a living, evolving platform — so check it out and let us know: what’s missing, what’s working, and what would make it unforgettable?

Thanks again for your review — players like you help shape the future of this game.

Best EARLY ACCESS shooter game

Disclaimer: Escape-from-X is currently in Early Access, which comes with its ups and downs. It's not a finished product — and that’s actually both a good and a bad thing. It means we get to watch it evolve, but it also means a few key features are still missing.
What I Don’t Like (Yet):
The story content is still missing. It’s promised and “coming soon,” but as of now, the world lacks the narrative context that could elevate the immersion. Co-op mode is also absent — playing with friends would take this to another level, and I’m really looking forward to that update.
What I Love So Far:
There’s a perfect balance between realism and comfort. The game is hard, and I mean actually hard. You can’t just run around spraying bullets. You need to think like a soldier: reflexes, positioning, orientation, spatial awareness — they all matter. The progression feels fantastic. When you finally get your first AK after working your way through glocks, it feels earned — and powerful. When you lose gear, it’s always because you made a mistake. You learn from it. And often, it’s the kind of lesson that applies to real-life decision making and tactics. After just two weeks of playing, I went from missing every shot to landing headshots consistently, thanks to the amazing shooting range. Funny note: you actually have to bring your own ammo to the range — and there’s a sign saying “auto-supply not working” as an in-game joke. Love that. 😂 The game started off with very basic graphics and assets, but over time it’s grown into something visually impressive and immersive. While there’s currently only one main weapon per engagement type (close, mid, long range + sidearm), the simplicity works — and the devs have promised more variety in future updates. The current system actually makes you think more strategically.
Final Thoughts:
This game is a hidden gem in the making. It's already well worth the price — especially since it’s often available with 50%, 80%, or even 90% discounts if you follow the devs on Discord and social media. I'm genuinely excited to be part of this journey. If the game gets the attention and funding it deserves, the future looks incredible.

Early access game

I wanted to rate this 5 stars do to the 1 star review that wanted to trash a game that is in development. Just know that if you buy this it is in alpha. After starting the first mission,
I can say the graphics are ok, you can see how they look like in the developers
Videos. The hands are large, and the movement seems kind of slow for this type of game.
I would hear the enemy, turn to look and try to strafe behind cover only to get shot,
because you move slow. I think they are going for more realistic, because you have to
use the sights to hit your enemy. Head shots are effective, and you don't see your bullets
being fired, no tracer lines. you also die quickly, even on normal this game is hard.
You have to go slow, and take out enemy's one by one. For a positive, I am impressed with the voice acting, and like the use of the tablet.

If you want to try this game and pay for it, its kind of like telling the developers your
supporting them and know that there are issues/glitches for now. I had one happen were I grabbed the mag and glitched causing it to fly out of my hand and disappeared. It happened at the beginning of a raid on the base, so I had no bullets to defend with. It has a good set of bones for a game, looking forward to see were it goes.

Misleading reviews/ not good at all

Sorry all. This is a big disappointment. Not sure why the other reviews gave this anything but 1 star . The graphics are not good, cannot reach the ground when you crouch, so if you drop something you can’t pick it up. Could not get into a raid. Your hands look unrealistically enormous. This should have been a free game. Save your money. Tired of cash grabs that give little to no effort.

Hi there — we really appreciate you taking the time to share your honest thoughts.

You're absolutely right that Escape-from-X is not a finished product — it’s an early alpha, built with the active participation of our community. That means rough edges, bugs, and sometimes frustrating limitations. But it also means a living, breathing project that evolves week by week, update by update, with the help of people like you.

We totally get that the experience didn’t meet your expectations. What hurts us most is not the criticism, but that we didn’t get to hear it directly from you in our Discord, where we’re extremely active. Most players who connect with us share ideas, issues, and suggestions, and we act fast — because this is personal. We’re a tiny team building this in our free time, hoping to grow big enough to work full-time on it. Every voice helps shape what comes next.

Just to clarify a few points:
Hi there, and thanks for sharing your thoughts — let’s clear up a few things for others reading this.

“This is a big disappointment. Not sure why the other reviews gave this anything but 1 star.”

We believe those reviews come from players who read the store description, understood it's an early alpha, and took the time to watch our YouTube videos or join our Discord. That makes a big difference.

“The graphics are not good.”

We disagree — our raid environment holds its own against titles from studios with multi-million budgets. Check our YouTube dev diaries, and stay tuned — we’re preparing a comparison video against Exfil and Tabor to back that up.

“Cannot reach the ground when you crouch...”

Escape-from-X is a room-scale military simulator, not an arcade shooter. It’s listed as room-scale only on the Meta Store. We’ve even had users with physical limitations play seated and still complete raids — but it’s not the intended playstyle.

“Could not get into a raid.”

Sounds like a migration/setup issue — very typical for early access games. That’s why we list support resources everywhere (Discord, YouTube, email). A quick message and we would’ve helped immediately.

“Your hands look unrealistically enormous.”

This is due to calibration mismatch. The system adapts to height and proportions so both tall and short players experience the world naturally — but improper boundary or in-game calibration causes distortion. Again, this is explained and fixable.

Bottom line:
There’s no real technical blocker here — just a misunderstanding of what the game is and how it’s meant to be played. We’re sad you didn’t reach out for help before jumping to conclusions, but for anyone else reading:
→ Please check the store description
→ Watch gameplay videos in youtube (look for us there Badjo Entertainment)
→ Join our Discord and talk to us. ( reach out vie support mail or use support page added in meta store to get discord invite link)

This is a small community-driven project still in early alpha, and we’re here, active, and improving fast. We appreciate all feedback — even the tough ones — as long as it comes with a genuine intent to engage.

As for visuals, we’ve been constantly remastering and improving assets, with major polish updates dropping every month.

This isn’t a cash grab — it’s a long-haul journey like Escape from Tarkov was in its early days. We’ve got a 10-year roadmap, and we’re fully committed to delivering something unforgettable. And if after talking with us you still feel misled, we’ll do everything in our power to help with refunds or solutions.

For anyone else reading this: Don’t buy now if you’re expecting a polished experience. Instead, check out our Dev Diaries (find us in youtube under Badjo Entertainment), follow our progress, and if the time feels right, join the ride. Whether it’s in a month or five years — we’re building this for players who want something more.

Stay strong,
— The Escape-from-X Team
