EMPEROR is a 40-minute interactive and narrative experience that puts you inside the brain of a man suffering from aphasia.
You not only share the experience of a father who has lost his ability to speak, but also hear the story of his daughter, who is trying to communicate with him. You join her quest to unravel the past that he can no longer talk about, and discover how his relationship to words is connected to his memories.
Step by step, clue after clue, you will dive alongside her into the inner world of this man transported to the mysterious territory of Aphasia, shown as a black & white, surrealist landscape.
With one-of-a-kind art direction, EMPEROR is an intimate, touching story that will leave a lasting mark on your minds.

Wonderful!
So amazing to see VR used as artistic medium! Really well done, beautiful graphics and nice story. 100% recommended!
Incredible piece of art. Don't be thrown off by the black and white.... this short film has incredible depth and a tear jerker of an interactive story. The scene where you are free falling from a plane and your parachute opens above you was mind blowing and will stay with me for some time... and this coming from someone who has almost 20 jumps from different aircrafts while serving in the military. Well done!! One of my favorite experiences on the Quest 3! Will highly recommend this experience to all. ❤️❤️🙏😁
Not a game, not an interactive film, but something new. This could have been done as a short story or a documentary but that would have robbed it of the unique way that we literally embody the narrator's father. I'm reminded of what Roger Ebert said about cinema, that it is a machine that generates empathy. Emperor shows us that this machine, too, can do the same.
In conclusion, I can what story is trying to tell us, but each scene’s presentation lacks a certain level of clarity. Considering that it is offered free of charge, there is no significant downside, except for approximately 40 minutes of your time.
What an excellent experience. It gives you a sense of what both sides feel while dealing with this condition. Worth your time. You def. need 40 minutes as there is no way to stop and start, but it's probably best consumed in one sitting for maximum effect.
