Dodging Delight

Practising dodging stuff has become a favourite pastime of mine of late, so had to pick this up. And it's a lot of fun. Plenty of different things to dodge in different ways. And the 360 dodging from multiple angles, makes it one of the more challenging dodge games I've played. Well worth a play. One thing though (and I think I read that this was coming a little while back), it really, REALLY, would benefit from mixed reality. Currently I have to play it quite tentatively. MR would be a MASSIVE upgrade here. GG though. =)

Dodge, Defend, Discover

This VR game brings a refreshing blend of fast reflex gameplay and story-driven action. You’ll find yourself dodging an onslaught of objects with different shapes and speeds, all while uncovering a mysterious world connected by portals and enemies. What really makes it special is how failure doesn’t feel frustrating—it’s actually fun to get hit sometimes, because each level is such a ride.

The main character’s superpowers—blocking, destroying, or slowing down obstacles—add a strategic layer to the experience. It’s not just about quick reflexes, but also timing and choice. With its immersive storytelling, clever mechanics, and a nice dose of challenge, this game is definitely worth a shot for fans of action and adventure in VR.

Great idea, hope there's more coming

This is a great start. I've only played the first few levels of the pirate's campaign, all of which have been pretty easy. Not quite sure how to get a full 3 stars, though...I didn't come close to getting hit and still only earned two stars on a few levels.

It is worth noting that using the right stick to select and toggle between them is pretty clunky. I hope that mechanic is improved in the future.

Also, why are the treasure chests thrown so high? They never come close to me, even if I'm standing still. Is this intentional design?

I'd love to see some sleeker graphics. The cartoonish theme and objects are cute for a short minute but I think I'd get into the game more if it was a bit darker or and more ethereal or abstract. More campaigns would be great. There doesn't seem to be a lot of content at the moment, but assuming the devs continue to update moving forward (which it seems they will), this could be quite a gem.

Unique way to workout

The game is designed very well and is pretty challenging. You will need a large space as you will be moving a lot and in different directions. The tutorial is very helpful and will get you started very quickly. Lots of different modes to keep things interesting. No mixed reality but it says it's coming in the game. I'll need that as I don't have too much room and seeing my surroundings will help. Very happy with this game and will use it a lot.

Thanks for your lovely review! Until Mixed Reality support is added, I can recommend a small, thin and cheap carpet in the middle of your play area to help remind you not to stray too far (and crash into any walls or furniture).

Fun with a workout side benefit

When I first started the game I was frustrated and not dodging properly. Going through the tutorial was the key for me to understand all of the controls and how much actually I needed to move (having lots of space makes this very fun!!)
Once I made it through the tutorial and started the campaign, I loved it. The first few levels give you the feel for it and then everything starts moving quickly and it gets intense. It’s the first game in which I yelled ‘ouch’ when I got hit and had family members come to see if I was okay. It did glitch once or twice early on where my hands were floating and there was a restart needed, but it’s new so that will be ironed out quickly. Over all, really impressed with this and I’m looking forward to playing it often. Enjoyed by all aged 12 to 50 in this household

That's hilarious about yelling 'ouch' - and wonderful that you were so immersed!

I am working on the floating hands issue, thank you for letting me know that it's still happening as it only affects some players. It can usually be fixed by looking at your hands and moving your controllers around, but I will make this a top priority in the coming days.

Good, but needs space

I’ve played a couple of times and it’s ok, seems pretty slow at the start.
Due to space restrictions I prefer games where I don’t have to move my feet too much & I can see that this game is going to need a bit more space.

Thanks for your honest review! The latest update just released makes the starting levels somewhat faster. There are also some Custom "hardcore" levels which are much faster if you wish to get right into it. On top of that, after you unlock any level in Campaign Mode, you can play it again in Endless Mode, where each iteration is progressively faster. You can also play while standing more or less in one spot in your room, but you will still need to swivel around (and duck) from time to time to avoid things coming from different directions. It also might help to add a small carpet on the floor where you play so you don't walk outside of this area (it's an old-school VR trick to not walk too far ;)
