Take control of high-tech weapons, ranging from precision pistols to automatic rifles, and engage in high-octane action sequences, including thrilling flying car missions.
Built from the ground up for VR, Distortion delivers a full-length campaign, endless gameplay modes, and a rich, complex story. The story is engaging. The environment and character art is awesome. The sounds and music are satisfying and atmospheric (respectively). This is a game with much to offer and presumably more to come. Variety in objectives will be key to the game’s lasting appeal (or lack thereof), as there is potential for gradual disinterest due to repetition (ie, get through here, shooting baddies on the way, and again, and again). Side missions and improved NPC interactions would be welcomed. Overall, very very cool feel and experience. I enjoy it.
This is exactly the kind of game VR needs to sell more headsets, the game’s cyberpunk visuals and settings look fabulous and the game is as challenging as it is fun with a great dystopian soundtrack to boot. It’s developers like this that will pave the way for VR as a platform, I eagerly look forward to seeing what they’ll work on next.
..... The PROS .....
Very smooth with Nice graphics with mirror tracing techniques being used (i assume) for reflections. love the potential of this title! A straight up shooter with a campaign, climbing, slow motion and its Straight Forward etc
.... The Cons....
Disappointing A.i voices and character models.. and i don't like the mission set up... its overly linear... like just go to point A, now go point B, now go to point C.. i like simple but where is the creativity in 2025 🎨hopefully good updates come. i will still give this game a 4 because i still Like it, it attempts at good graphics on the floors but as the other reviewer said the script kinda bland and linear and i think after this game ima also stop putting my hopes up too high.. its a cool game... but in 2025 there should be more VR INTERACTIVE THINGS. COULD OF JUST STAYED ON FLAT SCREEN. ❗
Can be a GREAT game with some TLC.. lots of potential still ☑
UPDATE: as of 2025 JUN 5
save your money ❗ this was a con of a Game. The develper of this Game does not Talk, does not communicate. Check the Empty Discord if im Lying. This Game does no Updates and even if it did the developer isnt passionate enough or experienced Enough to deliver anything worth it. many other games better then this. wish i cam Refund but i cant. I Gave up trying to convince the develper to show signs of Life. ❗❗❗ i have gave you and UNDESERVED 4 initially, but the Reality shows why this game Review tank .... no passion no love = low profit and bad reviews... good day.. enjoy my $30
Awesome game! The fact that it’s a solo dev is extremely impressive and it’s always nice to see one that’s this responsive to feedback. Solid gameplay with a lot of potential for some great world building. As a shoot-em-up the pacing is nice. I look forward to more form this developer.
The first time playing, I found myself staring out the window at the speeding hovercars and dancing holograms. While the game begins with linear style corridors, I really enjoyed the rooftop levels that open up even more. The "aim down to reload" style works nicely as you move through the levels.
The gameplay and mechanics are reminiscent of games like System Critical 2, delivering a solid, fun trip through the futuristic landscape. Can't wait to see what comes next!
I am optimistic about this game. Love the story concept. Love the atmosphere. But the gameplay feels broken. I know it is new, with a very small developer team, so I am trying to be patient. However, I couldn't even complete the tutorial because I spent 10 minutes trying to clime a fire escape and kept falling through the floors, so I quite. I reloaded and tried to go into the game, but could not get my gun to reload, so I kept dying. I think once this gets smoothed out I will revisit this game. It looks very promising.
