I've spent a great deal of time in just the first campaign alone in both single player and in cooperative play. The achievements and rewards pop frequently enough to keep you wanting to play and the campaigns, surprisingly, are fun to play repeatedly. The story within the campaigns are interesting and getting through Maple Grove without a battle is probably one of the funniest memories I will have in this game. Can't wait to see the new dlc campaigns that will be added in the future.
As a huge Demeo fan, I’m surprised at the bugs.
Mixed reality unplayable due to how the dice reacts in the game. Floats to the middle of the table, and rolls a miss every time.
My entire hand of saved cards disappears and I enter a dungeon and gives me a bunch of crap cards,
Friend keeps disconnecting and interrupting the game play…
Demeo is a 5 star experience and this will be when it’s fixed, when I see the bug fixes I will change my review to a 5 star.
Sad I have to give it a 2 until then.
Ignore all of the one-star reviews. They are about issues that have already been patched or people just not understanding how to play the game.
This is the closest you can get to playing D&D in electronic form, but without all of the rules overhead and fiddly stuff.
The campaigns are so well written and very replayable due to branching decisions and simply the fact that they are so much fun.
The stories are great, and the dialogue and voice acting are first class.
I have played with D&D players and newbies, and everyone has loved it.
The characters are great, and I am sure we will see more added. The variety of skills and attacks are great, and there is lots of room for good tactical play in battles. We have had some really engaging and memorable battles.
There are a good range of enemies, and they play differently against you.
There is even a progression mechanism for your characters, and it has been well done.
The VR mechanics and menus are very well implemented, and for me, they were intuitive.
I was not surprised to see how smoothly this game runs at launch, considering the developers' pedigree. They have clearly put their hearts into creating this.
There will be more campaigns and one shots, and all I can say is - devs, take my money. They will be instant purchases.
Great work with this, devs.
I encountered trouble with continuing with the multiplayer game.- I could not see my other players. In addition, I selected for a private game and uninvited players joined. The game can only be played with cooperation and not rogue players. I regret purchasing this game.
Great game but there is a huge bug with the dice. You can take the dice and just put gentle on a table on any result you wish. The dice won't roll.
Just put the dice not throwing it...
Due to this bug I give you 2 stars. After fixing it you will get 5 😉
I have been playing Demeo since it first hit the market several years ago, and have been playing D&D since the first edition dropped in 1979, so I am definitely your target market here😉 That being said the devs and producers of the game have done an excellent job. This is now my #1 favorite vr game!
I do have two suggestions however. Firstly, the icon to trash cards is in a terrible spot, it should really be moved to somewhere else in the wrist menu. It is entirely to easy to discard a card when trying to drag it to your mini, and there have been times when that has absolutely ruined a run for me or my friends. Maybe consider an entirely different menu for recycling cards? Something like, select card, hit A button, Then the icon for discard comes up...It really shouldn't be that easy to accidentally trash a card.
Secondly, once you have completed a campaign, please make all the encounters available as one shot dungeons. Sometimes you just want a quick, fun battle with friends that you can knock out in an hour or so. And some of the best encounters are only available within the campaign and then they're basically gone. It would be really great to just run a quick dungeon crawl through Cragmaw Castle, or tackle the Dragon in the Fastness of Green Shadows on very hard and see if we can survive!
All in all a great game though. We'll done to everyone involved! I can't wait to see what campaigns and enhancements you add in the future
