Good game but I want a perk where I can eat the demons for health😛😛
Love the game. Not new but full immersion still makes me a bit dizzy so I think the game would do better if you could control the tunnel vision settings like how hellsweeper does. Maybe I can and am just missing it lol. The chainsaw kills are awesome but sometimes it’s a little clunky when I go for the kill with it activated and it doesn’t shred through like it should (especially if you hook your way at them with it activated but it doesn’t go through). And the gun switching mechanics should be simpler. Just some things to think about and kinks to work out. Other than that, I’m hooked on this game and the campaign. Good job.
I have decided to wipe my save file and start over to fix the issues. Admittedly it DID solve some of the issues such as when you go into a healer of the dead challenge (seriously these names are super long and I genuinely couldn't care less) and when you chainsaw the main enemy but the shields wouldn't go away.
The problem is this... There isn't going to be anymore updates, but this game still has issues. It has really opened my eyes as to how Joyway really doesn't give a crap about the quality of their games anymore, considering that the game on launch was FILLED TO THE BRIM with glitches. And they decided that it was good to release it in such a state.
My next problem comes in the fact that some of the resources just appear whenever they feel like. The organic crystals are by far the most rare item in the game and I despise that.
This game is also far too easy considering that you can just go into your magic menu by pressing one of the forward buttons and you can just hold that down for as long as you want and the enemies can't do a thing about it.
Fabulous game that's unique from the others. Everything is good about it apart from one thing. I can't take my weapon from my right holster on my back it just doesn't work. It will work for maybe 5 min in the first room, but then it will just break.
I love the game but it has a couple of bugs that need to be fixed:
- My left lens on Quest 3 starts tearing up like having an inverted rectangle image in. It's the only game that causes this.
- loot crates are sometimes unbreakable, and if they break they disappear into nothing without any animation or sound.
After playing the game since launch date, and beating the game numerous times I would like to talk what's good and what's holding this game back. First the good : once you really get the swinging mechanic down the game is Hella fun, and keeps me coming back for more. The weapons are of a good design and fun to use with a great reload mechanism. I really feel like the game needs some updates to address the frame rate drops. especially in the second act after after you beat the guardian (aka the first boss.) also the ability to hook enemies and pull life from them all but disappears as you upgrade your weapons. This seems counter intuitive for game based on movement dodging enemies and recovering Health through hooking mechanisms. The entire idea is to upgrade and get better weapons, but it seems moot when you have to carry an extra weaker weapon so you don't damage you foe too much,so you can get some health from them. This can be mitigated to a point by obtaining life stealer and skull collector upgrades but these usually don't come along until way later in the game towards the end if you get them at all. I just feel like for a game based on hooking your enemies that you should always be able to draw some health at some point. I hope this is addressed in the future along with smoother frame rates. update 2025 the game has received numerous updates since my original review but has game breaking bugs that just aren't getting addressed. One that occurs often for me is a picture within a picture in the left lens of my quest 3. Again it usually happens in the second act of the game after you beat the guardian of the eye aka the first boss. Playing the game a certain scene will lock in the left lens and you can only see out of the right lens it's basically a picture within a picture on the left side of the headset. If this could get fixed it would be great. Also I would really like to see the selector wheel that lets you choose which power you want to use such as flame ice or gust it needs to have a lock in so you don't have to try to select it every single time. This could easily be accomplished by pushing in the thumb stick since thumbstick click isn't being used in the game for anything. Just these couple of minor fixes could Elevate this game to one of the best swinging games on the platform but it just seems to be largely abandoned at this point.
