Crumbling is a nostalgic adventure that thrusts you into a world where you smash your action-figure character against legions of toy monsters!

Action Figures in VR

Unwrap your Crumbling from the blister package and take their fate into your hands – literally! Crumbling is a rogue-like adventure where you control your character with one hand, just like an action figure.

Pick Your Crumbling

Select one of three unique heroes with vastly different gameplay. Will your Knight hack and slash the enemies to pieces, or will you wield the Shaman with its mystical powers? Or maybe just cover the diorama in plastic bullets with the Blaster.

Fast-Paced Fighting

Move your palm-sized hero through gorgeously crafted toy dioramas and clash with an army of plastic monsters in thrilling hack'n'slash combat. It’s a test of skill and timing as you evade, counter, and smash your way through to the next boss!

Romping Story Comics

Crack open the narrated comic book and discover the story of Mr. and Mrs. Crumble, creators of the magical ‘Crumbling’ action figures. Can this sweet couple and their plucky creations triumph against the nefarious toymaking corporation Böse Corp?

Unnecessarily Difficult In th Wrong Ways

The game starts off promising enough, but almost IMMEDIATELY after the tutorial stage is completed, the first few stages throw WAY too much around you to realistically keep up with. Cows spitting milk at you while cactuses throw minesveverywhere while you're trying to dodge and attack 5 different fu***ng crows charging at you all at once from every direction, all while you are getting locked into place just trying to attack! Don't even get me started on when they throw in the p.o.s. snakes spitting venom lines all over the arena that are impossible not to lose at LEAST 30% of your health on because thevdevs thought it would be cute and "fun" to throw 4-5+ all at once, even with other enemies in the midst of them!
Add to this the fact that you CAN NOT upgrade or do ANY go**amn thing with your Crumbling stats-wise, because you ned coins. Which you ONLY f****ng get 1 (yes... only 1) from actually completing a run....
No difficulty options either, so it's stuck on "F-You" mode with the only way to progress is "get gud", or in other words, "get lucky"...

Another useless part is the intermittent side game in the middle of a run. Like the don't touch the pole game that's IMPOSSIBLE in VR (or at least here), even if I can easily do it physically in real life. So it's a complete waste of time and nothing else.

That's a good description for the game itself honestly, "A complete waste of time". Because though it starts off promising and with plenty of charm, it devolves into being artificially difficult. Just infuriatingly hard for the very wrong reasons a game should be challenging you..

So I highly recommend anyone not get fooled into being interested as I was and to save your hard earned money on this one..

Hey Teele,
Yeah, Crumbling can be a bit of a challenge.
I'm super sure you'll get the hang of it and when you do, you'll find it's not that hard.

Here are a few tips that might make your life easier:
- Stay calm and keep your distance. Especially the cows will punish you for attacking from the front in a panic.
- Try hit & run attacks and don't commit to a full attack sequence. But if you do, know that you jump a bit on the start of each attack towards your controller. So you can still move a little.
- You can level up your collectible figurines using the magic you gather. So you absolutely can upgrade.
- Try and scale down the size of the game in the settings. Smaller world means more overview and easier movement.
- Stay friendly. People are more likely to help you if you are ;)

Great game

I love this game and it’s concept 10/10. But it’s pretty short currently. I finished it the same day I bought it. Still glad I got it though. Are y’all planning to add more levels and crumblings? May I suggest a child’s play room or toy chest for a level?
edit 12/30/24:I think they have forgotten about the game because no new levels or crumblings:(

Update: what happened?

I’ve only finished the tutorial and first level, but I’m digging it so far. The graphics/environments are top notch, really well done. Very crisp. I’ll update the review with more details after I put more time in. It’s at least worth a go in my opinion. You can always return it if you don’t enjoy. You’ll know within the first 30 mins if it’s for you or not.

Update: 1/20/24
I’ve put in a few hours now and the more I play, the more I fall in love. It seems like it should be so simplistic but it’s not at all. It gets real hectic trying to stay alive, and it’s a real challenge completing the later levels. The difficulty ramps up after the first 3-4 levels.

Kinda wish there were more unique in game upgrades, but I’m not far into the game at all so there might be a ton more abilities i haven’t reached yet. So I’ll reserve judgement in this category until I play more.

It’s actually a shame this game only has 10 reviews as of today. If nothing else, it’s a quality made game with zero bugs. Finally a game that’s ready on Day 1 release! Hope this game takes off cuz I’d love to see endless updates to this game.

Easily 5 STARS

Final Update (likely): 1/21/24
Ok, I’m in love with this game now. Now that I’ve gotten the 2nd action figure, I’ve got a whole new set of moves and weapons to play around with. This game is brilliant. I do have 1 gripe though, and i reallllly hope it’s included in a future update: ENDLESS MODE. I’m not a fan of upgrading my action figure only for the game to end in 5-6 rounds. I wanna see how far I can go without dying, and go against endless swarms of baddies.
That 1 complaint aside, this game is a true gem. No exaggeration, I can’t put this game down. Do yourself a favor and give it a go

For sure final update 12/21/24

The developer assured people this game was gonna receive regular updates. Never happened. Nothing, nada, zippo, for over a year now. Such a shame. It was a great game but needed much more content to make it worthwhile. Highly disappointed. Don’t buy this thinking it will be updated one day. What you see is what you get

Hey PowPow,

What a rollercoaster of emotions, reading through your review! Ending on a bit of a downer, unfortunately.

After 5 years of development, I am proud of my game and I stand by it.

I am sorry to hear you are 'highly disappointed'. I hope you can find the joy again you used to have with Crumbling.

Crumbling comes across as simple, yet it is polished to perfection and provides unbelievably enjoyable experiences, which is what ultimately matters. Moreover, it is always a delight to tear open action figures from their plastic packaging, evoking fond memories of one's own childhood.
