Crashland has to be one of the most underrated games on the Quest store in my opinion. The combat is enjoyable, the designs of the creatures are unique, and the level designs are well thought out. There is also a decent amount of things to do, such as obtaining perks and playing on different difficulties. I don't see many people talk about this game which is a shame. So overall, I think Crashland is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition and praise.
This is the alien monster VR game you have been looking for. Just a great single player multi level shooter with decent graphics, level ups, easy teleport and standard movement options. Easy to play but really hard to win. Truly a VR classic worth owning. It's like those old Jurassic Park or Terminator arcade shooters, without the constant scene shifting, better graphics, and with non-stop alien monsters.
The premise is simple. You land on one of several nicely designed basic planets (ie no buildings or anything complicated) and aliens approach from all sides. You have a radar, two guns, there are several temporary power ups to pick up during a game, and you can earn permanent power up abilities post each game as you rack up kills. The graphics are exactly like the demo video. Each monster has different weaknesses. The goal is to survive until you can be rescued.
Note: there are a lot of complaints by people that they can't get out of training mode. Look to the bottom of the menu for dots. You can press the next dot to proceed with the next mission. The menus have a lot of options. Take some time to look around before quitting. I believe this was made by one person. Unbelievably fun!
Absolutely love this game. Very challenging, very difficult, and very scary! Sometimes things sneak up on you and start sucking the life out of you before you turn to see it!
I'd like to see even more updates with more strange planets and monsters.
This game is a MUST-HAVE!
UPDATE: (one year later) This game still holds up to any shooter game there is out there, even the new ones. Still GREAT to play, still challenging, and still heart-pumping!
The only thing that could make this better is a multiplayer version. Maybe 2 or more can play together at the same time. My wife and I would love to take on these creatures together on some strange planet's surface.
How about CRASHLAND 2 ???
UPDATE: It's been 2 years since my original post, and I still love coming back to play this game over and over. I have finished it all the way through all 24+ levels and in all but the last difficulty level ( I believe there are 5)
The only thing that would make this better is to be able to play with another player (1)
This game is a very fun, strategic arcade type game where you just click play and instantly load in after you die. Right now, there is just a floating screen in space that you click to select your missions and click start, and the spaceship that crashes flies beside you into the planet. Well, why don’t you make it so that instead of a floating screen, the screen is located inside the spaceship, and after you die you are inside the spaceship where you select your missions on a control panel. This makes so much sense and would add some much needed depth to the game
TL,DR: let you be inside the spaceship instead of float in space to select your missions
Just can’t get off basic training. Every time I finish training and try to progress in the game it sends me back to the beginning training.
Some atmospheric background music would be nice.
Game runs flawless and wants you to keep playing.
Nice job
