Great Quest port

Was a fan of the first one in PCVR so I had to try it out here too. Solid port, obviously without the local MP part, but same gameloop and progression, so lots of fun

Nice!

The zombies look good,so do the weapons. I would like to see bigger maps like city, with a lot of alleys to get trapped in,city maps my favorite, the generator map is fun as well, wish we could get lost in the dark woods while looking for boxes. Good stuff so far

Has potential, but needs a lot of polish

This game is quite fun for a short while, but even though the price isn't high, this game would need a lot more polish to recommend it.
The extraxtion type gameplay is fun, the environments are good enough and there are a few unlockable upgrades that would make me come back for a round here and there.
But there are barely any ambient sounds if you turn off the music. You dont have hands and instead see quest 2 controller models all the time. There is almost no physicality to the objects you have to carry around etc. etc.
I wouldn't say that the game needs a lot more content to be interesting, but the mechanics would need a lot of work in todays VR market.

Great standard and basic zombie game.

So I've had this game for a while now, but I just never reviewed it. Today is the day. This game is a very basic and standard zombie shooter, but it is really well done. Graphics isn't mind-blowing but decent enough that you could get lost in the virtual world, and your mind starts to think it's becoming real enough. Gameplay like i said basic but effective. I think it's aimed more for people who are new and want to try VR, so you put them into a game. This game would be it. You do different levels, some of them you go around and collect supply boxes that are green, red or red, and depending on which one you collect, you can unlock health, equipment, or a supply box to collect the specific mission that you're doing. Some items are dropped randomly while playing so you have to be lucky to unlock some things, or use the money you collect to buy others. There's zombies and other creatures along with different missions to keep it interesting and keep you coming back to play. Thats it, there's much to it. It's highly recommended if you like zombies shooters.

Ok, so I bought the game . The video looked great . But when I played, it realised the game is frigging awesome . Top game to play if you like killing zombies . Whoop whoop it's the sound of the police.

The survival and defense missions have the player in a fixed position, but in the scavenge maps you can move around and explore.

Worth the $8! Could use some QOL…

Jumping right in, I gotta say, for what it is, this is a wonderful experience that really hammers home the real purpose of games: a game doesn’t need fancy graphics or lore or online features or anything of the like. It just needs to be fun. This game does not present any BS, and notably, there’s no sea of menus. You get a plane with a location menu, an armory, an loadout menu, and that’s really it. Pick a spot and start shooting just like that.

The reloading feels great. It really justifies the idea that this is one of the main selling points of this game. Chaining headshots together, especially with a pistol, is really fun.

The current version is 1.1, which tells me that this is the “works as intended,” full, “we are done working on this game” release. But at the same time, it feels as though something’s missing.

I would really appreciate a sprint function for locomotion missions. Perhaps the lack thereof is supposed to invoke a sort of tactical Ready Or Not-esque playstyle, which I absolutely adore the idea of. But at the same time, there’s really no point in moving this slow and methodically in these huge maps where the enemies are confined to melee. You never risk peeking a corner only to get lit up like a Christmas tree, anyway, so why not?

An inventory system for scavenging missions would also very much be appreciated. As with the lack of a sprint, there’s probably a method to this madness. I did feel very vulnerable whenever I was carrying a box to the drop off point, since I couldn’t reload or use my sidearm. This is a baller idea, but I don’t think it’s entirely worth it. The lack of an inventory system also breaks immersion once you start using two handed weapons.
We don’t *need* a whole Resident Evil styled grid inventory, either. A lot of the problems I brought up here could be solved if you just had one or two slots on your shoulders to store boxes.

Also, as fun as the gunplay is, it could do with some tweaking, too. Maybe some faux recoil after each shot to discourage spamming the trigger (which I very much did). Adjustments to two handed weapons would also be useful: I had difficulty using this game’s equivalent of the MP5 because I kept grabbing the foregrip when I wanted to chamber a new round. Making it such that the grip button grabs the foregrip and the trigger releases the bolt (kinda like what they do in Pavlov) would fix this.

Oh, and the toggle grip to grab items from your belt is a little jank, admittedly. It makes putting away weapons in the heat of battle or picking up supply boxes that happen to be close to, say, your melee really difficult. This could be fixed by making your weapons return to their holsters upon releasing the button.

But outside of what’s ultimately me just nitpicking, this is a charming little title that’s absolutely worth the price. It’s the perfect way to nuke your boredom when your VR library starts to feel a bit stale. 7/10, would recommend!
