Archery has been my sport for over 60yrs and I've participated in smallbore rifle shooting but never took to the shotgun because I've always considered splattering pellets everywhere not very precise.
That said, I thought I'd give this 'game' a try for a bit of fun. Wow what fun. I've been playing this for a couple of months now and it's changed my opinion of clay shooting. I haven't gone as far as getting a gun stock as I feel I really don't need to as holding a virtual gun is very realistic. I haven't enjoyed myself so much in ages. OK, while not having the weight of a gun or the recoil, after an hour or two shooting I'm exhausted. It really is quite tiring.
This has got to be the next best thing to actually being out on a shoot. I can highly recommend this game/app or whatever you want to call it. Well worth the money.
Update after seven months.
Got myself the MegaVR Simstock to go with this 'game', although it's more than a game. What a transformation. Anyone wanting realism needs to get a good gunstock. I realise it's a costly addition but believe me it's worth it.
amazing game /simulator ,finnaly found
a stock on ebay ,all i play ,just started clay shooting ,have bin once a month for just over a year ,so maybe 14 times ,people at club think im a natural as iv come on so quick ,not said owt 😂but this game is the reason why!
With DIY Real Stock Pro V2 for me an absolutely realistc way to train clay shooting at any time.
💯👍
Yet another game done right, kudos to the developers. What an enjoyable experience that anyone can participate in. Mucho praise for creating a shooting game where the standard controllers are EXCELLENT in playing the game. So this goes from novice (me) to professional shooters and with the option to use (if you want them) purchasing the
highest level of manufactured, actual wood stocked guns designed for this game - Wowwww!
Recently got into clay shooting after doing an experience day and decided to go for my shotgun licence. Knowing how long this can take I joined a gun club and have booked lessons. In the meantime I saw a review for this game in a Clay shooting magazine and thought it sounded like a good idea to improve my shooting until I go ‘live’ I bought a meta quest 3s and downloaded Clay hunt vr and I have to say it’s brilliant. I have been using with just the controllers but have just forked out on the clay blaster to use as a stock which I am hoping will improve the experience further. Highly recommend it’s such good fun.
An excellent way to practise when you can't get to the range.
To me it is very real and almost as good as the real thing - except there is no recoil.
The only difference I see is the field of view/peripheral vision is less than real life, but I suspect this is more of a Q3 thing than the software.
The shot feedback shows you where you are on a target and allows you to find tune your mechanics as required.
